World events are part of what makes an MMORPG an immersive experience. The World of Warcraft holds a holiday almost every month, often to correlating with something going on in real life. These holidays mean that players can enjoy unique bosses, gear, and consumes only available during that event.

Most corners of the world have some kind of harvest festival that takes place in the autumn, and World of Warcraft has its own version. "Pilgrim's Bounty" sets a table with all the trimmings, from pumpkin pies to roast turkeys. There are a lot of turkeys, and unique items and quests related to them. Here's how to get the Pilgrim title in the game.

The Pilgrim's Bounty Event

This is an event based on Thanksgiving, so most of the quests, items, and events revolve around food. Players that have maxed out their Cooking skill have a definite advantage here. Many of the quests and dailies require learning a recipe and making some kind of consumable unique to the holiday event.

There are a total of nine Achievements that players have to complete to get the Pilgrim title along with the Plump Turkey companion pet. The ones that aren't about cooking still manage to involve food in some way.

How To Get The Pilgrim Title

Like many of the Achievements related to holidays, completing a specific list of tasks rewards the player with a title and, in this case, a pet. It should be noted that this title doesn't count towards the meta-Achievement, "What A Long Strange Trip It's Been" that awards the famous proto-drake.

There are five special recipes that players are only able to learn and make during Pilgrim's Bounty, and cooking every single one is required for this Achievement. These unique dishes are:

  • Slow-Roasted Turkey
  • Spice Bread Stuffing
  • Candied Sweet Potato
  • Pumpkin Pie
  • Cranberry Chutney

Learn these recipes from the Bountiful Cookbook, which is one of the items available from the Pilgrim's Bounty Vendor.

Pilgrim's Peril

This is a dangerous undertaking, especially on a PVP server, but it's needed to complete the Achievement. Put on the finest threads, which would be the Pilgrim's Dress, the Pilgrim's Robe, or the Pilgrim's Attire, and take a seat at the festival tables set up outside all four opposing enemy cities. Feast with enemies to complete this task.

Sharing is Caring

There are five different dishes that fill every Bountiful Table, and passing each one to a fellow reveler is how to get this Achievement. Pass the Slow-Roasted Turkey, Spice Bread Stuffing, Candied Sweet Potato, Pumpkin Pie, or Cranberry Chutney to a friend. And yes, these are the same recipes for the "Now We're Cookin'" Achievement.

The Turkinator

This mini-game requires the player to kill a total of 40 turkeys with no less than 30 seconds between each kill. For every ten turkeys, the player gets a different buff that helps with the count. Players that know how to make Tracker Snacks can use them to help finish this quest.

"FOOD FIGHT!"

It could be the easiest and most fun out of all the tasks related to Pilgrim's Bounty. Just like the name suggests, bounce some food off a fellow doner's head while feasting at the Bountiful table. Maybe a bun is better than a baked potato, depending on the target.

Pilgrim's Paunch

Players can and should finish this Achievement while doing "Pilgrim's Peril." It also takes place at the Bountiful Tables of the opposing faction, and is just as dangerous. This time, after being seated, the character has to stay at the table until they get a buff called The Spirit of Sharing. This buff grants the player a 5% increase in reputation gains and a random Well Fed buff.

Complete the five daily quests that are only available during this holiday to complete this Achievement. These are all related to Cooking, so make sure to buy the Bountiful Cookbook, which includes the recipes needed.

Players will need to cook a generous amount of each of those same five magical dishes mentioned above for each quest. The rewards include a choice of holiday-specific clothing (which is needed for the other Achievements) and a Turkey Shooter, which is not used to hunt turkeys but covers fellow adventurers in feathers, and keeps them from using stealth powers or invisibility spells.

Terokkar Turkey Time

Sethekk Halls, Outland, The Burnng Crusade

Of course, the boss for this holiday would be a giant bird, and it happens to be Talon King Ikiss. The title of the Achievement is a reference to the location of this deadly foe, Setthek Halls in Outland. The catch is he must be defeated while the player is wearing a Pilgrim's Hat combined with either a Pilgrim's Dress, a Pilgrim's Robe, or Pilgrim's Attire.

Turkey Lurkey

This is one of the more difficult Achievements for the Pilgrim title. Turkey Shooters are needed, and players get a limited number of these from finishing daily quests. Use them on one Rogue of each race, including those of the opposing faction, to complete this task.

Neutral cities like Dalaran or Shattrath can make this a little easier, but those who want more of a challenge can take it into battlegrounds.
