As is tradition for World of Warcraft, and all of its expansions, reaching level cap is only just the beginning. At that point, the sky is the limit in terms of what you can do. When you've completed the campaign, the majority of the features that lead to endgame will unlock. This includes things like world quests, weekly quests, and more.
In addition, you can also begin to gather some new items that will be useful for your progression. One item you will encounter fairly early on in the endgame are Coffer Key Shards, and here is how you can get them along with what they are ultimately used for.
WoW The War Within: All Demon Hunter Hero Talents
Demon Hunter's Hero Talents introduces new gameplay mechanics in The War Within, adding a fresh layer of depth to the class.
How to Get Coffer Key Shards
There are several ways that you can obtain Coffer Key Shards. Primarily, you can get Coffer Key Shards from completing world quests that reward them upon completion. Unfortunately, this method is somewhat RNG dependant as it is entirely possible to have not a single Coffer Key Shard as a reward from any active world quests.
Fortunately, you can get Coffer Key Shards through other methods as well. Looting treasures has a chance of dropping Coffer Key Shards, and completing events like Radiant Echoes and any public events in Khaz Algar.
How to Get Restored Coffer Key
Once you've obtained 100 Coffer Key Shards, you can use them to create a Restored Coffer Key. In addition, you can obtain a Restored Coffer Key from caches that you get by completing weekly quests. It is important to note that only four weekly caches per week will contain a Restored Coffer Key. Any additional Restored Coffer Keys will have to come from gathering Coffer Key Shards.
While it isn't a reliable or consistent method, increasing your renown rank can grant you one time bonus Restored Coffer Key from each faction in Khaz Algar. Finally, you will be able to purchase a Restored Coffer Key from Sir Finley Mrrglton. This last option will only be available during a War Within Season though, so keep that in mind.
Unlike Coffer Key Shards, Restored Coffer Keys are considered currency and will show up on your currency tab rather than take up an inventory slot.
How to Use Restored Coffer Key
Once you've obtained a Restored Coffer Key, the next step will be to open your map and look for the nearest Bountiful Delve. Every day, there are several Bountiful Delves active across Khaz Algar. Unlike normal Delves, a Bountiful Delve will have a golden yellow visual effect on the entrance. In addition, the open doorway symbol on the map will be lit up.
Once you've completed a Bountiful Delve and reached the treasure room, you will notice there will be a third chest known as a Bountiful Coffer. If you right-click on a Bountiful Coffer while you have a Restored Coffer Key, the Bountiful Coffer will open, and you will get a reward that scales based on the chosen difficulty for the tier. Doing so consumes one Restored Coffer Key.
A Restored Coffer Key is only used if you unlock a Bountiful Coffer. So don't worry if you forget to open it or if you run out of revives on a higher tier before you even reach the treasure room. Bountiful Coffers also includes a Radiant Echo, which is used to start the Radiant Echoes event.
