Every new phase for WoW Classic: Season of Discovery brings a plethora of new content. But so far, this has mostly taken the form of revamped classic content, including new level-up Raids that are converted from vanilla Dungeons. In Phase 4, we finally got our first piece of completely new, original content: Demon Fall Canyon.
What To Do First In WoW SoD Phase 4
Figuring out what to do first in WoW SoD Phase 4 can be tough, especially if you dropped off in Phase 3.
As a new max-level dungeon that can be found in WoW SoD, Demon Fall Canyon is not like most dungeons. To enter Demon Fall Canyon, you must become attuned to it by collecting the Shadowtooth Illusion Ward – which allows you to see the instance portal. This guide covers how to unlock Demon Fall Canyon, what the DFC prerequisites are, and where this brand-new dungeon is located.
Demon Fall Canyon Prerequisites
There is really only one prerequisite to unlock Demon Fall Canyon attunement: your character must simply be at least Level 55.
At the launch of Phase 4, Demon Fall Canyon attunement appeared to have been locked behind the Wild Offerings questline "The Wild Gods", introduced in Phase 3, as the quest shares the same vendor. However, it appears that "The Wild Gods" is not actually required.
As long as you are Level 55 and have reached the Shadowtooth Emissary in Felwood, you can pick up the attunement quest "Demonic Deceptions". The Shadowtooth Emissary is a new WoW SoD quest giver and vendor who can be found just outside the Emerald Sanctuary, in southern Felwood. The easiest way to get here as both Alliance and Horde is to travel to each faction's respective Flight Path in Ashenvale and ride north into Felwood. The Emerald Sanctuary is the first major settlement on road leading north into the zone. Look for the Troll standing away from other questgivers in the area.

How To Unlock Demon Fall Canyon in WoW SoD
Pick Up "Demonic Deceptions" & Head To Winterspring For Owlbeast Pineal Glands
To unlock Demon Fall Canyon, you must head to the Shadowtooth Emissary and pick up the quest "Demonic Deceptions", which will only appear if you follow the Demon Fall Canyon attunement prerequisites above. The Emissary tells you of more strange happenings with the Loa, this time in the region where Grommash Hellscream defeated the demon Mannoroth, freeing the Orcs from the control of his fel blood (as made famous in Warcraft 3).
WoW SoD: All Phase 4 Ring Runes – Effects, Locations, & Class Restrictions
There are a total of 15 Ring Runes in WoW SoD P4, but not all of these Specialization Runes can be used by all classes in Phase 4.
He asks that you get Owlbeast Pineal Glands to create a charm that will ward away the illusions in the place of this momentous battle, and sends you to Winterspring.
Owlbeasts in other areas do not drop this high-level quest item, only Owlbeasts in the max-level Winterspring zone, and only specific ones at that. Berserk Owlbeasts and Moontouched Owlbeasts seem to be able to drop this item around at what seems to be a 1/4 to about 1/3 drop rate, but the Crazed Owlbeasts (which tend to be around Level 56) do not appear to drop them, or drop them at a significantly lower rate.
You need six of these, so go massacre some Owlbeasts, then head back to the Emerald Sanctuary. The best place to farm Owlbeasts is north of Everlook, near a cave that you can see on the world map. Consider going during off-peak times to avoid other players, because both types of Owlbeasts in this area north
Return To Shadowtooth Emissary To Get The Shadowtooth Illusion Ward
The Shadowtooth Emissary will accept your Pineal Glands and, in return, offer the Shadowtooth Illusion Ward, completing "Demonic Deceptions". The Shadowtooth Illusion Ward is a trinket, and by collecting this item, you will become attuned to this completely new WoW SoD P4 dungeon. But the Demon Fall Canyon location is not in Felwood, nor in Winterspring – it's in southeastern Ashenvale, which fortunately is not too long of a journey by mount.

In Phase 4, WoW SoD Druid Runes expanded to include options for the Cloak and Ring Rune Slots, as well as changes to existing Druid Runes.
Go To Southeastern Ashenvale To Find The Demon Fall Canyon Location
To get to Demon Fall Canyon, look on your map for the grey chasm in the southeast of Ashenvale, practically inches away from Splintertree Post. The entrance to Demon Fall Canyon is just to the north of this grey area on the Ashenvale map, but you won't be able to see the instance portal unless you equip the Shadowtooth Illusion Ward.
Equip the Demon Fall Canyon attunement trinket (and make sure everyone in your group is attuned) then walk into the instance portal to take on the exciting, completely fresh new Phase 4 dungeon. Though it is available as low as Level 55, it's not recommended to take on Demon Fall Canyon until max level because of its relatively heightened difficulty – perhaps because players haven't memorized this dungeon in and out, like other endgame content in WoW Classic.
Once inside, you can safely unequip the DFC attunement trinket and put on your normal gear again. But you will need this trinket to see the Instance portal every time you want to re-enter.
