After almost 20 years, World of Warcraft is still going strong. In fact, it is doing so well that Blizzard implemented World of Warcraft Classic, which allows players to relive the days when the older expansions were the only ones available. If players are playing the vanilla version of the game, they can participate in the Season of Discovery.

This event allows players to experience vanilla WoW but with a twist of new mechanics and items. This allows those who have spent a lot of time in World of Warcraft Classic (either in 2004 or in more modern times) to see the game in a new light. One thing that Phase 4 of the SoD added was the ability to reach level 60 and unlock Epic Mounts. Here's how to do that.

In order to unlock the ability to have Epic Mounts, players must first reach level 60 (the new max level). After that, players will need to train in the Riding Skills for their race. This can be done for 20 Gold at the following locations:

Once the first level of the Riding Skill is unlocked, players can pay to have the next level unlocked, which allows them to use Epic Mounts. Thankfully, players can reduce the cost of training by 10% twice by the following methods:

  1. Reaching Honored or higher in reputation with the faction (shown under associated groups)
  2. Reaching Rank 3 in PvP

How To Get An Epic Mount In WoW SoD

There are now five known Epic Mounts in the game, and each one is 800 Gold, making it extremely difficult to obtain them. Some of these mounts are ones that were already in the game but can now be upgraded to the 100% speed version (Epic version).

  • Fluorescent Green Mechanostrider
    • Ziri "The Wrench" Littlesproket in Gnomeregan will trade players the Epic version of the mount for the 60% version and 800 Gold.

  • Frostwolf Howler
    • Jekyll Flandring in Alterac Mountains sells this for 800 Gold once the player is Exalted with the Frostwolf Clan.

  • Golden Sabercat
  • Mottled Blood Raptor
  • Stormpike Battle Charger
    • Thanthaldis Snowgleam in Alterac Mountains sells this for 800 Gold once the player is exalted with the Stormpike Guard.
