Herbalism And Tailoring

Tailoring is mainly a profession for Mages and Warlocks because these two classes are restricted to clothing and armor. The main resource for this profession is cloth drops from humanoid and undead enemies, leaving room for a second profession.
Herbalism is one of the three gathering professions and players can level this skill as they progress through different zones. Not all of the plants that grow in the wilderness are valuable, but anyone familiar with high-level Alchemy knows what sells.
- Swiftthistle: There aren't any nodes for this herb. It's hidden with Mageroyal and Briarthorn and is used for the coveted PvP concoctions like Swiftness Potions and agility elixirs.
- Bruiseweed: Complete one of the Waylaid Shipments with Bruiseweed, which doesn't spawn as often as other herbs.
- Ghost Mushrooms: These can only be found in two places in all of Azeroth and are used to make Ghost Dye, a resource for high-level Tailors.
- Goldthorn: A mid-level herb used in a wide range of recipes from level 25 to the high 40s.
Tauren characters have a +15 buff for Herbalism, plus their starting area is rich with herbs, mining nodes, and skinning prospects. Tauren players with an eye on their gold can combine Herbalism with another lucrative gathering profession and enjoy a steady income.

Enchanting And Mining

Enchanting is like Tailoring in the sense that no second profession is needed to gather the resources. This leaves room for another profession, and Enchanters who are also spellcasters will often choose Tailoring. However, Enchanting is something that all classes need, and when paired with Mining, it's a nice source of income.
Look at any city chat and you'll see other players either looking for enchants or selling them. The materials for Enchanting are acquired through "disenchanting" Uncommon, Rare, or Epic quality items. These valuable regents include Brilliant Shards and Dream Dust, which is essential for the majority of recipes.
- Service Profession: Other players will often employ an Enchanter for their services in exchange for food, valuable items, or gold. Players can provide their own materials or pay the Enchanter extra to provide them.
- Selling Resources: Very few of the resources that result from disenchanting an item are soulbound, so they can be sold in the Auction House.
- Crafting: At higher levels, Enchanters can make Lesser Mana Oil, an essential caster buff that applies to a weapon
Mining is the most valuable of the gathering professions because its resources are shared between Blacksmithing and Engineering. Low-level items like coarse stone are an essential resource for both these professions, plus they can complete a Waylaid Shipment, so if the player doesn't need them, they can sell them.
Miners who don't have the Blacksmithing or Engineering profession can still harvest and refine materials. Smelting is one of the skills that players learn as miners, which means they can combine certain materials into something more valuable.

Leather of Light, medium, or Heavy quality is used in several Leatherworking recipes, Tailors use it for boots and vests, and Blacksmithing requires leather straps for binding and grips. It can also be used to complete a Waylaid Shipment. It's famously one of the most valuable commodities in the Auction House.
