In WoW SoD, Warlocks aren't as gear-dependent as some other classes (looking at you, Warriors). But it's still important to prioritize certain pieces over others, especially if you are looking to maximize your damage output in a Destruction build. Pre-BIS For Warlock DPS

These pre-BIS items are the best Warlock DPS gear that players can get before max level (or right after hitting max level) before going into BFD. In Phase One the Blackfathom Deeps raid offers new, powerful BIS gear for every class, and much of its loot will stay with you deep into Phase 2. But, you need to have some decent gear to finish the Raid and get that endgame gear.

These items can be found in dungeons that can be completed by fresh Level 25 players, made through various Professions (like Tailoring), dropped by high level mobs in max level zones, or are rewards for completing Quests or reaching specific reputation ranks.

If you don't feel like farming an item that drops in the open world yourself, most can be bought (for a significant amount of Gold) from the Auction House.

The Metamorphosis Rune is the Rune that enables Warlocks to Tank in SoD, but getting it can be a bit of a tedious process.

BIS For Warlock DPS

While the previous table covered gear that Warlocks can get before Level 25, or on a fresh 25, to ensure that they are ready for endgame PvE and PvP, this table covers the best of the best gear in WoW SoD for Warlock DPS. Some of these items can only be found in Blackfathom Deeps, some in dungeons that are tough even for geared 25's (like Razorfen Kraul), and others are tied to the Warsong reputations for both factions.

The best Warlock DPS build in WoW SoD Phase 1 is a blend of Destruction and Demonology, with the vast majority of points put into Destruction to enhance Fire damage. Put three points into Improved Imp in the Demonology tree, then the rest of your points into Cataclysm, Bane, Improved Firebolt, and Shadowburn in the Destruction tree.

The best Runes to pair with this BIS Warlock DPS gear are Lake of Fire on the Chest, Chaos Bolt on the Hands, and Incinerate on the Legs.
