The launch of World of Warcraft Classic: Season of Discovery was received with widespread praise as it revamped a world that players have come to love over the last 20 years. After a successful Phase One, Blizzard plans to release the second Phase soon – along with a litany of new changes intended for a maximum Level 40.
WoW Season of Discovery: Best Professions For SoD
Of all professions in WoW, these combinations work best for making gold, providing utility, or enhancing personal power in SoD.
It has been said that the WoW SoD season length would be more than a month, but less than three months, and as Phase One released on November 30, 2023, that timeline seems to just about line up. Read on to discover some of what we we know about Phase Two of WoW SoD, as well as the exact date and time we can expect Phase Two to officially launch.
Phase Two Overview
Each Phase for WoW SoD will introduce a litany of changes that add a bunch of new (or revamped) content to the vanilla WoW world. A few things have been confirmed for Phase Two, while players are still waiting to hear more details on some of the Runes and other content we can expect in the next phase – for example, how relevant BFD will be while leveling up.
For now, we know that WoW SoD new features include:
- Maximum level cap of 40
- Mount training and Mount purchase cost reduction (to around 40 Gold for both in total)
- An unknown number of new Runes for new equipment slots, with new Discovery methods
- A reimagined 10-man Raid version of Gnomeregan
- Some form of PvP-focused zone-wide event in Stranglethorn Vale
- Profession Cap raised to 225 (not Master-level, as would normally be available at lvl 40)
As the next Phase approaches, Blizzard and the WoW SoD team are all but sure to go reveal some more in-depth details on what to expect in the next part of this journey.
WoW Season of Discovery: Grizzby Quest Walkthrough (All Ratchet Runes)
In Ratchet, every class must complete a series of quests offered by Grizzby, a new NPC in WoW SoD who demands lots of items.
WoW SoD Phase Two Release Date & Time
World of Warcraft Classic: Season of Discovery is set to launch on February 8, 2024 across all regions. But the exact time of day is relatively unknown. Typically, Blizzard rolls out major updates with the weekly server reset on Tuesday mornings, but so far new Phases seem to be released on Thursdays instead.
Phase One released November 30, 2023 at about 1 p.m. PST/4 p.m. EST (though some server issues forced queues and thus delays). If Phase Two will launch at the same time of day that Phase One did, players can expect the exact WoW SoD launch date and time to be about 1 p.m. PST on February 8, 2024.
The phase should last for a few months until Phase Three releases, with its level cap of 50. According to Blizzard's own roadmap for WoW SoD, Phase Three should come in mid to late Spring (likely in late April or May).
