Though Priests are still top-of-the-charts for healing in WoW Classic: Season of Discovery, Paladin healers have always held their own with different abilities and a different approach. They might not have the utility of a Priest healer, but they can pump out the HPS – especially with such an incredibly powerful healing Rune as Beacon of Light.
WoW Classic: Season of Discovery Server List
Both the North American and European regions are gaining plenty of WoW Season of Discovery servers – and so is Australia and the OCE region.
When the Rune is equipped, Beacon of Light lets Paladin healers spread out their heals without losing any uptime on their main target. It also allows Paladins to effectively double their healing output on a single target, depending on which party member is targeted. This guide covers the basics of the Beacon of Light ability, as well as what is required to unlock the Beacon of Light Rune.

Arguably one of the most powerful Healing Runes in WoW SoD, Beacon of Light turns Paladin healers' capabilities up to 11. Beacon of Light lets the Paladin choose one target to become, well, a Beacon of Light. The buff lasts for one minute, during which all Healing on other party members will be replicated on the player with Beacon of Light. Essentially, this lets a Healer Paladin focus their efforts on other party members without sacrificing their healing on their main target (usually a Tank).
However, not only does is the amount of healing mirrored onto the Beacon of Light target from other party members, but it can also be cast directly onto your main healing target. This works exactly how one would hope it does – with Beacon of Light on your main target, all healing on that player is effectively doubled. This makes Paladin healers ridiculously strong for single-target heals, but also opens up the class' ability to keep up with healing DPS.
WoW Classic: Season of Discovery Level Cap
Every Season of Discovery Phase will increase the max level Cap in SoD – starting at a relatively low 25, and eventually reaching lvl 60.
How To Get The Beacon of Light Rune In WoW SoD
To unlock Beacon of Light, Paladins must undertake a relatively simple, but lengthy, rep grind with a new faction. Every class has one Rune locked behind reputation ranks with the new Waylaid Supply factions – either the Azeroth Commerce Authority or Durotar Supply & Logistics, depending on faction. For Paladins, this is the Rune of Beckoning Light.
When players get Waylaid Supplies, they can be turned in filled or unfilled to vendors outside the Auction Houses to gain XP, gold, and reputation. Once Paladins reach Friendly status with their faction's new vendor at 3000 rep, the Rune of Beckoning Light becomes available for purchase.
The cost of the Beacon of Light Rune, and all Runes available with these new faction vendors, is 2g. If you want to be an effective Paladin healer when grinding Dungeons becomes a viable level-up method at Level 18, be sure to start farming Waylaid Supplies ASAP.
