The newest Phase of WoW Season of Discovery brought players up to Level 40, introduced a bunch of new Runes, added the revamped Gnomeregan Raid, and opened up huge new recipes for all crafting professions in WoW SoD. In addition to "endgame" Phase Two gear made by Leatherworkers Blacksmiths and Tailors, which each had new recipes in Phase One too, Engineers, Alchemists, and even Enchanters have new recipes to try out at Level 40.
WoW Season of Discovery: Best Professions For SoD
Of all professions in WoW, these combinations work best for making gold, providing utility, or enhancing personal power in SoD.
Enchanters in particular have access to one of the most useful buffs for Gnomeregan: the Dismantle enchant. Dismantle is one of the best SoD enchants for Phase Two because its effect procs off of mechanical enemies, which make up a significant portion of the Gnomeregan Level 40 Raid. This guide explains how to get the Dismantle enchanting recipe, what Dismantle does, and why it can be one of the most useful enchants in SoD.
Dismantle SoD Enchant Effects & Uses
Great For Gnomeregan, Not So Much For Everything Else
Dismantle gives all weapon and spell attacks a chance to deal anywhere from 60 to 90 damage to Mechanical enemies. It doesn't proc at all from hitting any other type of mob, but in a Raid like Gnomeregan, depending on your party buffs, it's easily of the best SoD enchants.
As its description says, the extra damage will apply to both weapon-based attacks and abilities and spell attacks, though it doesn't appear to proc from damage-over-time effects – just abilities that deal single instances of damage.
WoW Season of Discovery: How To Level Up Fast
Leveling in WoW SoD might be easier than ever before, especially in early level brackets, but it can still take a long time to get to max level.
Though the tooltip doesn't say, the chance for Dismantle to proc and give extra damage against Mechanicals is pretty low – around three to five percent on each hit, though the exact chance isn't known. With effects like Slice n Dice or Wild Strikes active, Dismantle becomes even more effective.
Despite its relatively low chance to proc, Dismantle damage will add up across Gnomeregan. But in other SoD content, Dismantle is almost useless. If you plan to only Raid at max level on one character, Dismantle is worth the cost. But if you want to engage in other content, consider going with an enchant that's more broadly useful – or keep a separate set of weapons only for Raiding with the Dismantle enchant active.

To get the Dismantle Enchanting recipe, you will have to go into Gnomeregan and complete the new Gnomeregan profession questline. This quest begins when you pick up your first Grime-Encrusted Salvage, which has a chance to drop from every enemy in the Gnomeregan Raid (but especially bosses).
Once you have one, right-click on it in your inventory, and accept the quest. After getting past Grubbis, the first boss of Gnomeregan, the Clean Zone will unlock for the party to delve further. In this friendly area, look for an interactive machine called the Salvagematic 9000 on the left side of the room (from the sealed door entrance). Spend the 30s to complete the quest, then speak with Ziri "The Wrench" Littlesprocket, a nearby Gnome NPC.
WoW Season of Discovery: All Gnomeregan Quests
Gnomeregan is a max-level Raid in the Season of Discovery, but that doesn't mean WoW SoD players can't still pick up a plethora of quests.
She requires 10 Mithril Bars, 5 Greater Mystic Essences, 3 GG12-082 Fuses, and a Pristine G-7 C.O.R.E Processor. Mithril Bars and Greater Mystic Essences can be made by Miners and Enchanters respectively, while the GG12-082 Fuses drop from mechanical enemies inside Gnomeregan.
The Pristine G-7 C.O.R.E Processor is a reward for completing the Corroded Core questline, which begins by interacting with the Corroded version that drops from Techbot, an elite outside of the instance. It's a long quest that takes you across Azeroth in search of beacons, so head to Booty Bay and set aside a few hours.
In the end, you will receive the Pristine processor. Finally, return to Ziri in the Clean Zone in Gnomeregan and turn in all the items. One of the rewards for completing the Grime Encrusted Salvage questline is the ability to buy new Gnomeregan Raid crafting recipes. Each of them costs a whopping 25 Gold, including Formula: Enchant Weapon - Dismantle. To learn and use the Dismantle Enchanting recipe, you will need to have reached level 225 Enchanting.
