Phase 3 Leatherworking in WoW SOD
Choose Your Specialization
If you are over the level of 40 and have leatherworking at 225 skill or higher, you can unlock one of the specializations related to leatherworking as of the start of phase 3 of Season of Discovery. Note: You do not need to choose a specialization right away, feel free to decide and pick it up later. These three specializations are:
- Dragonscale Leatherworking
- Elemental Leatherworking
- Tribal Leatherworking
You can choose any of these specializations, depending on your class and what kind of patterns you can make with each one.
Leatherworking Guide 225-300 in WoW SOD
If you are starting fresh, continue past this section to see older phases of leveling guides. For now, we focus on what's new with phase 3, and therefore we explore the 225-300 skill bracket. You can learn Artisan leatherworking from only 1 NPC per faction. They are:

225-300 Item Requirements
You will need the following items to go from 225 to 300 in leatherworking. Note that if some skill ups fail, you may need slightly more than these. We recommend if you have the extra gold, to grab an extra stack of each just in case.
- 420x Thick Leather
- 400x Rugged Leather
- 80x Silken Thread
- 20x Heavy Silken Thread
- 40x Rune Thread
- 40x Black Dye
Level from 225-300 in Phase 3 SOD By Crafting These
- 225-235: Nightscape Headband
- 235-250: Nightscape Pants
- 250-260: Nightscape Boots
- 260-280: Wicked Leather Gauntlets
- 280-300: Wicked Leather Headband

Craft These Items To Level Leatherworking from 1-225
With all of the ingredients in the above section, you will be able to craft the following items, in this order. Be sure to pick up Journeyman at skill level 75 and Expert at skill level 150 so you do not wait any crafts when you are maxed out on your skill cap.
- 1-45: Light Armor Kit
- 45-55: Cured Light Hide
- 55-75: Embossed Leather Gloves
- 75-100: Embossed Leather Gloves
- 100-120: Cured Medium Hide
- 120-135: Fine Leather Belt
- 135-150: Dark Leather Belt
- 150-160: Cured Heavy Hide
- 160-180: Heavy Armor Kit
- 180-190: Barbaric Shoulders
