Steam users recently received a brand-new free-to-play FPS, World War Legion, which currently has "Mostly Negative" player reviews on the platform. The military action game, developed by Alfa Bravo Inc, rolled out on Steam on September 2.
As shared on its Steam page, World War Legion is a game inspired by World War 2 but isn't a historically accurate game, especially when it comes to certain in-game weapons and equipment available. It is an online multiplayer title that is geared towards low-spec systems. Its creator, Alfa Bravo Inc, is an American studio whose only other game available on Steam is also an FPS called Combat Master, which came out in 2023.

World War Legion Struggles with Poor Steam Reviews
World War Legion is yet another free-to-play Steam release, but it is facing challenges in meeting players' expectations right now. At the time of writing, it has "Mostly Negative" user reviews on the platform, based on feedback from a total of 426 players. In other words, only 34% of the game's user feedback is positive. Among the critical Steam user reviews, several claim that World War Legion is too similar to Alfa Bravo Inc's Combat Master to merit being a separate game. Some of the players even opined that it should have been released as a DLC for that game instead. One review said, "It is a decent game but just a cut and paste of CM is all..."
Despite World War Legion's reviews being considerably alarming, it is worth noting that many of those grievances emerge from an apparent similarity with Combat Master. So, even though the newly released FPS may not excite everyone, it could still offer something for those who have never played the 2023 title before. Given the growing comparisons between the two games and the fact that Combat Master holds a "Very Positive" Steam rating, it appears more likely that certain players may actually have a positive experience with World War Legion. This assumption is consolidated by the fact that certain negative reviews for the new game only criticized it for being a "copy" and otherwise described it as a "good game."
In other news, there is a different Steam game that players can get their hands on for free, the 2017 puzzle game Puzzle Chambers. However, unlike World War Legion, this particular game is only available for free for a limited time, so those interested in claiming the offer on Steam should act fast.
