World of Warcraft's Battle For Azeroth expansion has been out for a month now (check out our review), but the massive MMO didn't drop every piece of new content on launch. Many of the new pieces of content associated with the expansion will arrive slowly over the coming months as the in-game story progresses. Among that content is the release of the Kul Tiran and Zandalari Troll Allied Races.
During today's Twitch event, game director Ion Hazzikostas dropped tons of information about content coming to World of Warcraft in the next few weeks and months. Between talk of new Raids and changes to rep locked content, he took some time to hint at when the Kul Tiran and Zandalari Troll races will become available.
This is what Hazzikostas had to say about when the next two Allied Races would arrive and how players can unlock them...
"A number of people want to know where Kul Tiran and Zandalari are. We talked about it in the past about an upcoming Allied Race. We're not quite there in the story but they're very very close. In the events following the raid, that's where this bond between our new allies and our factions will truly be forged and where we'll be able to recruit and bring the Kul Tiran and Zandalari formally into our factions."
"And no, if you're worrying or wondering about this, you're not going to have to rep up with some new faction -- if you are Exalted with the Proudmoore Admiralty or Zandalari Empire and done the War Campaign, that's enough. You've played through the story, you've earned their alliance, they will come join your faction but that's not going to happen until after the raid."
Here's a look at the dev livestream where the details emerged:
To spell it out a little more clearly, it sounds like the two new Allied Races will arrive sometime shortly after the upcoming Raid has been released and finished. The Raid is scheduled to hit the public test realms later this week, so hopefully it isn't too far off from live servers.
Additionally, players will need to be caught up on the War Campaign and have earned Exalted rep with the appropriate faction (the Proudmoore Admiralty or Zandalari Empire). Once the Raids from or have an official release date, we'll be sure to post additional details. If you haven't already unlocked the first two Allied Races, now would be a great time to get caught up.
Until then, For the Horde!
