In Patch 11.0.5, World of Warcraft added the Glyph of Jab, a new customization that makes the Monk’s Tiger Palm ability actually swing their weapon. This World of Warcraft Glyph can be purchased for 500 gold from an NPC in the Peak of Serenity – a place Monk characters can reach with ease.

World of Warcraft has officially released Patch 11.0.5, alongside a massive event for its 20th anniversary. The extensive patch notes for the World of Warcraft update detailed many of the changes in the game, including class balance, quality of life improvements, and an expansion to the classes available to the Dracthyr race.

However, there is a new item for Monks that was not documented in the patch notes. The Glyph of Jab is a World of Warcraft customization item that changes the animation for the Monk’s Tiger Palm ability to use their weapon, rather than just their fists. Players can pick up this new Glyph for 500 gold from Number Nine Jia, a vendor at the Peak of Serenity.

How to Get the Glyph of Jab in World of Warcraft

  • The Glyph of Jab alters the animation of Tiger Palm to use the Monk’s equipped weapon.
  • It can be bought for 500 gold from Number Nine Jia at the Peak of Serenity.
    • Monks can teleport there using Zen Pilgrimage.
    • After completing the opening scenario of the Monk Class Order Hall in Legion, Zen Pilgrimage teleports characters to the Temple of Five Dawns instead, but a portal there can take them to the Peak of Serenity.
    • Players may need to speak to Zidormi to phase into the pre-Legion version of the zone to get the NPC to appear.

Monks can reach the Peak of Serenity easily by using Zen Pilgrimage. That said, those who have started the Monk Class Order Hall campaign in World of Warcraft: Legion will be teleported to the Temple of Five Dawns instead. Luckily, this second temple has a portal that leads them to the first – though they might need to speak to Zidormi to return to the Peak of Serenity as it was before the Legion destroyed it to get Number Nine Jia to show up.

This isn’t the only new Glyph to appear in Patch 11.0.5. Shamans in World of Warcraft can pick up the Glyph of Traditional Ascendance or the Glyph of Energetic Ascendance to change their new Ascendant forms to the old versions, or another version of the updated model featuring wild hair and a skull-like face. These Glyphs are also 500 gold each, and can be bought from Flamesmith Lanying at the Maelstrom – the Shaman Class Order Hall accessed via Legion Dalaran’s Krasus’ Landing.
