World of Warcraft just revealed the catalog of items in the Trading Post for January, nearly two weeks before the new year. Players can pick up their favorite items from this golden collection at the Trading Post in World of Warcraft starting January 1, 2024.

The Trading Post is a special shop where players can exchange Trader’s Tender–a currency obtained via in-game activities, expansion pre-orders, and some store transactions–for exclusive cosmetics, including some removed from the cash shop. Usually, World of Warcraft reveals each month’s catalogue of items a few days before the store rolls over.

However, with the holidays right around the corner, World of Warcraft has shared the full catalog for January a week before it normally would. These Trading Post items share a gilded theme, with bright gold and yellow pets, mounts, and transmogs players can collect. If players complete their Traveler’s Log tasks for the month, they will also earn the Golden Mobile Timepiece wrist cosmetic–a fancy watch any class can transmog.

Players may notice that many of these items seem to be related to Ahn’Qiraj–the location for two of the most iconic raids in World of Warcraft history. Several of the cosmetics and mounts feature scarabs, Bronze Dragons, and time magic, and the Gossamer Desert Gown is a high-resolution version of the Robes of the Battleguard, a popular transmog that dropped from the Temple of Ahn’Qiraj. This is likely because the Call of the Scarab event, which relives the original opening of the Ahn’Qiraj raids, takes place near the end of the month, and includes several activities for players to complete in the Traveler’s Log.

Were that not exciting enough, January is the 12th month the Trading Post has been active. This means players can finally obtain the Burden of Unrelenting Justice transmog set by completing a year’s worth of Traveler’s Log activities. Players who do so will also get two static versions of the Warden cosmetic set once World of Warcraft adds them in Patch 10.2.5, Seeds of Renewal.

As the Trading Post turns a year old, some World of Warcraft players are noticing troubling trends. Each month’s items have increased in price, and World of Warcraft has begun adding more opportunities to get Trader’s Tender in exchange for real money, leading many fans to worry the otherwise-popular activity is being monetized. At the very least, players who are short on Trader’s Tender can get a bonus stipend by pre-purchasing The War Within.
