Summary
- WoW is bringing back class-specific armor and weapon sets with class restrictions lifted in November.
- Players will be able to use these transmogs on any character in WoW that can equip the weapon or armor type.
- Prices for the revamped sets are likely to remain the same, making it challenging to collect them all.
World of Warcraft just announced the class-specific armor and weapon sets from last year are returning to the Trading Post in November – but with their class restrictions lifted. Fans who get these transmogs, or who already have them, will be able to use them on any World of Warcraft character that can equip the weapon or armor type.
From September through December of last year, World of Warcraft added class-specific armor and weapon ensembles to the Trading Post. The armor sets included transmogs for the head, shoulders, and belt, while the arsenals each contained a few unique weapons, all of which could only be used by one of the 13 classes in World of Warcraft.
World of Warcraft Fans Want to See 1 Longtime Restriction Removed from the Game
World of Warcraft players take to social media to discuss removing and replacing a long-standing restriction on a popular game feature.
This year, these weapon and armor sets are returning to the Trading Post with an exciting twist. World of Warcraft is bringing these stunning sets back to the Trading Post in November, but with their class restrictions lifted. This means players who pick up these ensembles and arsenals can wear them as long as their class has access to the weapon or armor type – for example, Death Knights and Warriors in World of Warcraft can transmog the previously Paladin-only Plate of the Light Avenger, and any class that can use one-handed swords can use the Blood Onyx Shortblade, even if they aren’t a Rogue.

Last year, the class armor sets were 450 Trader’s Tender each, while the weapon arsenals cost 500. These prices are unlikely to change when they return in November, and with the armor and weapon sets for all 13 classes returning at once, getting all of them will be impossible unless fans have saved thousands of Trader’s Tender over the last year. It may be a while before these sets return again, so players should be careful spending their Trader’s Tender on World of Warcraft’s October Trading Post catalog if they hope to get more than a couple of ensembles.
Needless to say, the removal of the class restrictions on these items is huge. The limitations on these stellar World of Warcraft cosmetics were one of their only downsides, and fans are overjoyed to see them made available to other classes. This change is especially great for players who picked up some of these sets last year, as the items just became even more versatile.
During WoW Remix: Mists of Pandaria, recolored versions of these World of Warcraft weapon and armor sets were available in exchange for Bronze. While it remains to be seen if the class restrictions will be removed from these items as well, many players are hopeful they will receive the same treatment, opening up even more transmog opportunities for their characters.
