World of Warcraft just released the full unlock schedule for the various difficulties of the Nerub-ar Palace raid in The War Within. Between early access, Story Mode, and staggered Heroic and Mythic releases, The War Within is doing things a little differently than what World of Warcraft fans might be used to.
The War Within is rapidly approaching, with the Pre-Patch starting on July 23, and Early Access arriving just under a month later. After World of Warcraft: The War Within launches on August 26, the next several weeks will unlock more and more content, with Mythic dungeons, raids, and even story quests being made available over this period.
Now, World of Warcraft has revealed the full release schedule for the expansion and the content that is unlocked in the weeks following its release. Heroic raids, Mythic dungeons, and most other The War Within Season 1 content unlock on September 10, two weeks after The War Within releases. However, unlike previous expansions, Mythic raids and Mythic+ dungeons won’t be available until September 17, giving players a full week to clear the Heroic raids and begin gearing up for the most challenging content in World of Warcraft.

Additionally, the new Story Mode raids coming in World of Warcraft: The War Within have been moved up to release on September 17, alongside the Mythic difficulty of the raids. Previously, this small, soloable version of the Queen Ansurek battle was going to be available on September 24, when the last wing of the Raid Finder difficulty of Nerub-ar Palace opened, but it seems World of Warcraft pushed its launch up a week, letting players challenge this new encounter a little earlier.
Fans should also be aware that Dragonflight Season 4 is ending in two parts. The cutoff for the PvP rewards for WoW: Dragonflight Season 4 ends with the maintenance for the Pre-Patch event, set to begin at 10 P.M. PDT. This means players have less than a day from press time to finish their PvP goals for Dragonflight. The PvE aspect of Dragonflight Season 4 will continue to be available until The War Within’s full release, however, so fans still have time to earn these rewards.
Typically speaking, World of Warcraft expansions also have new story chapters that are released in subsequent weeks. While Blizzard hasn’t revealed when these quests will be made available, fans can likely expect new chapters for the first few weeks, plus an epilogue to Nerub-ar Palace after the raid goes live on September 10.
