SteelSeries just revealed a limited-edition collection of World of Warcraft: The War Within gaming peripherals that also include some in-game rewards. Though not yet available, fans will soon be able to pick up a headset, headphone speaker plates and headbands, a special keycap, and a mousepad inspired by the new World of Warcraft expansion.
The War Within, World of Warcraft’s tenth expansion, is nearly here. The full release is scheduled for August 26, but players who pre-purchased the Epic Edition of World of Warcraft: The War Within can begin playing early, starting at 3 PM PDT on August 22.
To celebrate the expansion and the game's impending 20th anniversary, World of Warcraft has partnered up with SteelSeries to create a new collection of gaming peripherals. There are six items in total: an Arctis Nova 7 headset, the Aerox 9 mouse, Alliance and Horde-themed headset speaker plates and headband sets, an artisan keycap featuring the sword of Sargeras from World of Warcraft, and a mousepad inspired by The War Within's cinematic trailer. What’s more, each item is paired with one of three in-game digital rewards for fans who purchase them: the Grinning Reaver, Lil' Flameo, and the Savage Ebony Battle Turtle.
World of Warcraft: The War Within SteelSeries Peripherals
The Grinning Reaver was a Warlords of Draenor-era cash shop mount that was removed in 2019, but it can now be obtained by buying the Arctis Nova 7 headset. Lil’ Flameo, a recolor of the Lil’ Maggz Pit Lord battle pet previously on sale in the cash shop, will be gifted to players who purchase the Aerox 9 mouse. The Savage Ebony Battle Turtle is a recolor of the blue and red versions previously available via the Trading Post in World of Warcraft, and is acquired by purchasing any of the other four peripherals.

These items are not yet available to purchase, but players can sign up to be notified when the collection is released on the official SteelSeries website. Considering the collection’s theme inspired by World of Warcraft’s 20th anniversary, the items will likely be released no later than November, though they could arrive sooner. Either way, the items are limited-edition, so fans who want to get their hands on them will need to act fast once they drop.
It remains to be seen if the digital items featured during this promotion will be available through other means once the SteelSeries collection is out of stock. They could arrive through future Trading Post catalogs, World of Warcraft Twitch Drops, or other promotions if they do reappear. Players who want any of these items might want to consider picking up the associated peripherals, as there is no guarantee they will return.
