World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria Remix Event, Explained

The latest limited-time event in WoW brings players back to Pandaria to level up in restored content and earn MoP cosmetics.

Now, World of Warcraft Remix: Mists of Pandaria has officially started. Players can make a Timerunner character by clicking on the new user interface on their character select screen. This character uses one of the slots on an existing Dragonflight realm and will be converted into a normal character after the event ends on August 19, giving players 95 days to enjoy it. Fans must make new Timerunner characters to participate, and cannot leave Mists of Pandaria, use the auction house, send mail to normal characters, or convert them to standard play until after the event’s conclusion, but they can join regular guilds, and all earned World of Warcraft cosmetics and collectibles will be immediately available to one’s entire account upon unlocking them.

When Does WoW Remix: Mists of Pandaria End?

  • Monday, August 19, 2024

The end date for WoW Remix: Mists of Pandaria may hold some other significance. Many World of Warcraft updates roll out on Tuesday, which would be the day after WoW Remix: Mists of Pandaria ends. Many fans speculate that the World of Warcraft: The War Within Pre-Patch may be released on August 20, as it would be right in line with when the expansion is expected to launch, and it would be perfectly timed so as not to interfere with its first WoW Remix event.

Though World of Warcraft has only just begun WoW Remix: Mists of Pandaria, players are enjoying it so much that they are already asking for similar events for other expansions in the future. The idea of a Remix of Legion, Wrath of the Lich King, or Burning Crusade is appealing to many – and the in-universe lore setup for World of Warcraft Remix: Mists of Pandaria would certainly make it easy to do.

That said, the existence of World of Warcraft Remix: Mists of Pandaria begs the question of what will happen with Classic WoW. If World of Warcraft follows its ambitious release schedule for Cataclysm Classic, Mists of Pandaria Classic could possibly be on the table by this time next year. Fans will have to see how popular WoW Remix is, and how its success affects the fate of Classic.
