Prime Gaming just revealed the World of Warcraft collectible item players can pick up for free right now for free. This rare item can be obtained by any World of Warcraft player with a subscription to Amazon Prime through most of May.Recently, Prime Gaming announced it would be giving out free World of Warcraft loot every month for the next year. The first of these drops was the Big Battle Bear–a mount previously only available by redeeming a code from the discontinued World of Warcraft trading card game. Now, the second World of Warcraft reward through Prime Gaming has been revealed. From now until May 25, players with a subscription or free trial to Amazon Prime can get the Lil’ XT battle pet with the click of a button. Modeled after the XT-002 Deconstructor boss from the Ulduar raid in Wrath of the Lich King, the Lil’ XT pet sometimes repeats the childish lines of his bigger counterpart. In addition to being a powerful battle pet, Lil’ XT has special, violent interactions with the Clockwork Rocket Bot, the Crashin’ Thrashin Racer Controller, and the Toy Train Set.
Originally, Lil XT was available on the Battle.net Shop, though it was also given away with the old WoW Mobile Armory subscription system, to Korean players who bought StarCraft: Remastered, and as a part of the See You Later Bundle from 2018. The pet was removed from the shop in 2019, meaning players could only get this pet via the Landro’s Lil’ XT card from the World of Warcraft TCG, which awarded an identical version of the mechanical companion.
As with all of these recent limited-time giveaways, the World of Warcraft community is torn. The majority of players are happy they have another chance to earn these rewards that could otherwise run hundreds or even thousands of dollars, but some who already had them are upset that their exclusive items are being given out for free. Unfortunately for them, it seems World of Warcraft will probably continue this trend for future Twitch Drops and Prime Gaming rewards.
World of Warcraft is actually about to launch two new Twitch Drop campaigns for the release of Embers of Neltharion as well. Players can earn the Ethereal Portal toy and the Blazing Hippogryph mount by watching four hours of Dragonflight on Twitch during the first and second weeks of the Patch’s launch respectively. Considering both of these items were also pricey TCG exclusives, World of Warcraft fans should be sure to pick them up once the campaigns begin.
World of Warcraft is available now for PC.
