Now, World of Warcraft is bringing back another feature from last year’s run of the event: the Plunderstorm Creator Royale. This tournament, which takes place on January 25 at 10 AM PST, pits 30 teams consisting of two World of Warcraft content creators each in a series of up to eight games. The last 20 teams standing in the first five matches earn points based on their placement, plus one extra point per elimination. If the last surviving team in match six is in the top three on the scoreboard, or the top 10 in match seven, that team takes the championship. If no winner is decided by then, the title goes to the winner of match eight – regardless of point total.

Like last year, Goldenboy, Soe Gschwind, and Esfand will be casting the event live from Blizzard HQ in Irvine, California. At press time, 6 of the 30 teams have not been revealed, so players can expect to learn who the last dozen participants are in the week leading up to the event.

Last year’s World of Warcraft Plunderstorm Creator Royale victory went to Kennystream and Lapi in match seven – despite the team technically coming in eighth place as far as points are concerned. Fans will have to tune in to the event to see which of their favorite content creators will be named the 2025 Plunderstorm Champions.
