World of Warcraft has officially revealed Ghosts of K’aresh, its 11.2 content update centered around the broken world of the Ethereals and Brokers, and the looming specter of Dimensius, the All-Devouring. Featuring new instanced content, gameplay systems, and campaign chapters, this World of Warcraft update will be the final major patch before Midnight.
Patch 11.1.7, Legacy of Arathor, was only just released on June 17. This update added the new Rise of the Red Dawn campaign chapter, Lorewalking, and the start of the third Turbulent Timeways event in World of Warcraft.
World of Warcraft Patch 11.1.7 is Missing a Few Things
World of Warcraft Patch 11.1.7, Legacy of Arathor, has finally arrived, but there are a couple of surprising things that are absent from the update.
Less than a day later, Blizzard has already revealed the next update. Patch 11.2, titled Ghosts of K’aresh, takes World of Warcraft players back to the shattered world of the Ethereals and Brokers as the Shadowguard seek to revive Dimensius the All-Devouring, the Void Lord responsible for the planet’s destruction. Fans will team up with Alleria, Locus-Walker, and more allies operating out of Tazavesh, the Veiled Market, as they seek to stop these villains. While there will be more chunks of smaller story before Midnight, the Ghosts of K’aresh content update will be the final major campaign of The War Within.

Ghosts of K’aresh culminates in a new raid called Manaforge Omega, the Shadowguard base where the revival of Dimensius is set to take place. Players will encounter an Ethereal wrapping facility, a rogue faction of Demon Hunters, and the Void Lord himself, who is the largest raid boss in history. Beyond that, a Delve in the Azure Span on the Dragon Isles from WoW: Dragonflight called The Archival Assault, a dungeon called Eco-Dome Al'dani, and Nexus Princess Ky’veza from Nerub-ar Palace as the Delve Nemesis will provide plenty of challenges for fans.
Players of all classes will obtain the Reshii Wraps, an artifact-level cloak that lets them phase into an Ethereal energy state to interact with the world in new ways. The raid and Delve include opportunities to use this feature, but Phase Diving will provide avenues in the open world to encounter new creatures, treasures, and quests, including Warrants, which allow one to hunt down notorious creatures to aid the constable of Tazavesh. The cloak will receive upgrades to both stats and appearances as one progresses through their adventures.
Ve’nari, the Maw Broker from World of Warcraft: Shadowlands, returns in Patch 11.2 through the Ecological Succession activity. Fans can collect animals from old zones to fill her Eco-Domes, aiding in her quest to restore K’aresh to a habitable state.
Season 3 also begins in Patch 11.2, bringing with it a new Mythic Dungeon pool, PvP updates, and class sets with bonuses that focus on Hero Talents. The update doesn’t have a release date yet, but players can likely expect it to arrive sometime in August.
