World of Warcraft is making some big changes to the portal rooms for both Stormwind and Orgrimmar in Patch 11.2.7, with Dornogal and Housing portals being brought into the first chambers. While portals to Azsuna, Ashran, Zuldazar, and Silvermoon will be slightly further away, this change should make most World of Warcraft players’ lives much easier.
The game world of WoW is massive, and figuring out how to quickly traverse it is one of the trickier things to do in the MMO. The portal rooms, known as the Wizard’s Sanctum in Stormwind and the Pathfinder’s Den in Orgrimmar, are integral to mastering fast travel in World of Warcraft.
Stormwind/Orgrimmar Portal Room Changes in WoW Patch 11.2.7
Soon, these transportation hubs will be getting a much-needed facelift. In the Patch 11.2.7 Public Test Realm, new portals to Founder’s Point and Razorwind Shores, the new Alliance and Horde zones coming in the WoW update with Housing early access, have been added to their respective portal rooms, replacing Azsuna, which has been moved to the second room. Additionally, the Dornogal portal has finally been relocated to the closest chambers, swapping with Ashran for the Alliance and Zuldazar for Horde. MrGM shared a helpful map detailing these changes on his Twitter.
-
Alliance
- Dornogal moved to room 1 (replaces Ashran),
- Founder’s Point (Housing) added to room 1 (replaces Azsuna)
- Azsuna and Ashran moved to room 2
-
Horde
- Dornogal moved to room 1 (replaces Zuldazar),
- Razorwind Shores (Housing) added to room 1 (replaces Azsuna)
- Zuldazar, Aszuna, and Silvermoon (The Burning Crusade) moved to room 2
Even more changes will be coming to the portal rooms once Midnight releases, as a new portal to the updated Silvermoon City will be added in both chambers. For the Alliance, Silvermoon will replace the Boralus portal, while for Horde, it will replace the old Silvermoon portal from WoW: The Burning Crusade. Boralus will remain in the first room until Midnight, but old Silvermoon will be relocated to the basement of the Horde’s portal room in Patch 11.2.7’s renovations in anticipation of the new expansion.
Blizzard is going to have to do something else with the Horde portal room soon, though. While Midnight’s launch will see 14 of the Alliance's 20 portal spots filled up, 13 of the Horde’s 14 spaces will be full with the addition of Silvermoon. If the new content from World of Warcraft: The Last Titan fills this spot, fans may see a third story added to the Orgrimmar portal room in the next few years.
Patch 11.2.7 hits World of Warcraft on December 2, so it won’t be long before these portal room changes go live. The expansion hasn’t received an official release date yet, but evidence suggests World of Warcraft: Midnight could release on or around March 10.
