World of Warcraft fans can obtain a new mount called the Festival Hot Air Balloon during the Pandaren Heritage questline in Patch 11.2.7, which can carry up to four players at one time. Though technically classified as a toy, this vehicle provides a brand-new way for World of Warcraft fans to travel in style.
Patch 11.2.7 is coming to World of Warcraft on December 2, bringing Player Housing early access, the return of the Brawler’s Guild, and an epilogue chapter bridging The War Within and Midnight. It is also finally adding a Heritage Armor questline for the Pandaren in which fans will return to the Wandering Isle to save the Spirit Festival alongside iconic characters like Chen and Li Li Stormstout.
Some World of Warcraft Characters Won't Be Able To Access Player Housing
Though Player Housing is finally coming to World of Warcraft in the Midnight expansion, some characters won't ever be able to access the new feature.
New Multi-Seat Hot Air Balloon Mount Toy from WoW Patch 11.2.7
However, this questline is adding more than just a new story and armor set. The Festival Hot Air Balloon is a toy earned by completing the Pandaren Heritage story that creates a controllable vehicle. While piloting it, their hotbars are replaced with vehicle interface controls to slowly go up, down, forward, or stop. What’s more, the Festival Hot Air Balloon can carry up to three other characters, letting nearly a full party go for a scenic cruise through the air together. WoW player Zee captured footage of this vehicle toy from the PTR and shared it with their fellow fans on Twitter.
Were this toy not exciting enough on its own, its lack of restrictions make it truly shine. While limitations could be put in place before it is officially released, it presently has no cooldown or duration, meaning it can be used as often or as long as one wants. What’s more, though it requires a Pandaren to unlock, it can be used by characters of any race, including the Haranir coming in WoW: Midnight.
Now that this toy vehicle exists, World of Warcraft could technically create similar mounts in the future. While it pales in comparison to WoW's Skyriding system in maneuverability and speed, it is still an exciting addition for players who wish to take the scenic route, especially since it can seat multiple characters. Fans are already eager to get their hands on this item, and would love to see more balloons and vehicles that use this mechanic added to the game in the future.
Players can already start the process of earning this reward presently. Once Patch 11.2.7 releases, fans will need to have a Pandaren character of level 50 or higher in order to pick up the quest. Raising a character to this level in World of Warcraft now means players will be able to dive right into the Heritage Armor questline on patch day and take a hot air balloon joyride of their own.
