World of Warcraft just rotated in a new pair of in-game items for fans who buy at least six months of subscription time at once: the Timbered Sky Snake for modern WoW, and the Timbered Air Snakelet pet for Classic. Inspired by the Zodiac Sign for 2025, players who buy bulk World of Warcraft subscriptions – or who are already on one – will receive these new items no later than January 31.
Since 2018, World of Warcraft has offered bonus in-game incentives for fans who subscribe for six or more months at a time. Typically cycling over in January and July, many of these rewards have been themed after the lunar Zodiac signs for each respective year, such as World of Warcraft’s Auspicious Arborwyrm for 2024, the Year of the Wood Dragon.

Now, World of Warcraft has revealed the first new six-month subscription offer for 2025. The Timbered Sky Snake is a flying mount for retail WoW that represents the Year of the Wood Snake, while the Timbered Air Snakelet is a matching pet that players can get for Cataclysm Classic. Fans can obtain these items simply by purchasing a bulk World of Warcraft subscription of at least six months, but the mount and pet can also be bought from the in-game store individually for $25 and $10 respectively. The Timbered Sky Snakelet, the matching pet for modern WoW, can also be bought from the Battle.net shop for $10, but it is not included in the subscription offer itself.

Players who are already on one of these recurring subscriptions will also receive these rewards as well. Both items will be gifted to qualifying Battle.net accounts no later than January 31, where they must be redeemed before the same date in 2026, when the items will likely be replaced with a mount and pet matching the lunar Year of the Fire Horse.
In addition to the Timbered Sky Snake and Timbered Air Snakelet, players who opt for a recurring 12-month World of Warcraft subscription also get the Startouched Furline, Gigantic Grrloc, and Charming Courier mounts for modern WoW, and the Lava Drake mount and Swoopy pet for Classic. Fans will also automatically get July’s six-month subscription offer, making this deal particularly lucrative for mount collectors.
According to World of Warcraft’s 2025 roadmap, retail WoW will be powering through two major patches starting with 11.1 in the next couple of months, and might even get player housing before the end of the year. For Classic, the progression servers are going to Mists of Pandaria, the new anniversary realms will speed all the way through vanilla and into The Burning Crusade, and Season of Discovery is entering its final phase. Needless to say, with big plans for every form of World of Warcraft, now is a pretty good time to lock in a bulk subscription.
