World of Warcraft will reveal more details about the Midnight expansion at Gamescom 2025, according to a statement made by Blizzard on June 23. Although further details about its Gamescom presence remain elusive, World of Warcraft will have a booth in Hall 8 of the Koelnmesse exhibition center from August 20 to 24 for attendees to peruse.
World of Warcraft: Midnight is the second planned chapter of the Worldsoul Saga, and will begin shortly after the events of the upcoming Ghosts of K'aresh content update. Ghost of K'aresh will take players to the titular home world of the mysterious Ethereals, as they face the return of Dimensius the All-Devouring. This gargantuan Void entity caused K'aresh's downfall and has chosen Azeroth as its next target, so players will be tasked with stopping Dimensius beforehand. The events of Ghosts of K'aresh and subsequent patches will have an impact on the Midnight expansion, currently scheduled to arrive this winter at the earliest.

Soon, World of Warcraft will have a major opportunity to share more details about Midnight, the game's eleventh expansion. According to Blizzard, World of Warcraft will attend Gamescom 2025 from August 20 to 24, which will be held at the Koelnmesse exhibition center in Cologne, Germany, located near the banks of the Rhine. World of Warcraft Is Coming to Gamescom 2025
Blizzard also confirmed that World of Warcraft fans unable to attend Gamescom will not be left out, as any news about Midnight will also be posted on social media. Although Midnight has no release date as of this writing, news about the expansion's closed alpha or beta testing period and a release window will likely be revealed during Gamescom.
Along with the upcoming battle between the forces of Light and Void, one of the biggest features of World of Warcraft: Midnight is player housing. While it remains in active development, player housing will be available to all World of Warcraft subscribers once Midnight's launch window arrives. Blizzard previously stated that some furnishings can be earned by completing legacy achievements from older dungeons and raids, and some can simply be bought from vendors scattered throughout Azeroth and beyond.
World of Warcraft joins other major gaming giants like Pokemon in attending Gamescom, which has become one of the largest gaming expos of its kind in the West. It remains to be seen what Blizzard will show ahead of Midnight's imminent launch.
