Some newly-discovered hints from World of Warcraft’s Public Test Realm indicate the new Orc Heritage Armor Questline might include a bittersweet sendoff for a certain popular character. If player speculation and theories are correct, the new World of Warcraft questline might be equally hopeful and sad.World of Warcraft is currently developing Patch 10.0.7. In addition to new story quests on the Forbidden Reach, the next update will add a Heritage Armor Questline for Humans and Orcs. The patch is currently available on the WoW PTR and is expected to release this spring.RELATED: World of Warcraft: Dragonflight Season 2 Mythic Dungeon Possibly Revealed Several hints datamined from the PTR have given players some clues as to what the Heritage Armor Questline might entail. A new cave full of level 70 wolves has been added to the Burning Steppes–a leveling zone famous for being home to Blackrock Mountain, the capital city of the Old Horde from Warcraft 1 and 2.

Players have also discovered new models for six major Orc clans, as well as new NPC entries for Durak and Rehze, the young children of Thrall. Lastly, players have discovered a new scenario called “The Old Frostwolf,” plus some new map textures located in Alterac Valley. These hints seem to indicate that Drek’Thar–elder shaman, interim leader of the Frostwolf clan, and major Horde NPC from the WoW's iconic Alterac Valley battleground–will play a major role in the new World of Warcraft Heritage Armor Questline alongside Thrall and his family.

Hearthstone Neutral Drekthar Rising

With all of these clues together, players are starting to get a picture of what the Orc Heritage Armor Questline might look like. Orc characters may return to the Burning Steppes to seek out something from the old Horde and may pay respects to the major clans of the new Horde. The aging Drek’Thar has been wheelchair-bound since Cataclysm, so many fans think the elderly Orc may pass away during the quest. However, it is possible Warcraft's Thrall–son of Durotan, former Chieftain of the Frostwolf clan–may be able to introduce his children to his old mentor before he passes on in a bittersweet, emotional scene.

While many players would be sad to see Drek’Thar go, most agree the old Orc has more than earned his rest. If the upcoming Heritage Armor Questline looks anything like the scenario fans have speculated, it could be a moment as powerful as the memorable Stay a While quest from Dragonflight. Heritage Armor Questlines have historically been some of World of Warcraft’s best stories, so players will have to see how the Orc and Human ones compare when they arrive in Patch 10.0.7.
