Summary
- To have a chance at getting Fyr'alath, the Legendary axe in World of Warcraft, players must defeat Fyrakk in Amirdrassil on any difficulty.
- Higher difficulty settings have better odds of dropping the weapon, and harder clears include chances from uncompleted lower difficulties.
- Players can collect Embers of Fyr'alath from bosses in Amirdrassil to increase their chances of getting the weapon in subsequent weeks.
World of Warcraft recently clarified how players can get Fyr’alath, the Dream Render–the new Legendary axe from the Amirdrassil raid–now that it has been obtained once. While the first World of Warcraft player to get this Legendary weapon had to defeat Fyrakk on Mythic, subsequent players will have a chance on any difficulty.
Recently, the race to complete Amirdrassil, the Dream’s Hope, on Mythic difficulty came to an end in one of the closest contests in World of Warcraft history. Once the battle was over, Meeres, a Death Knight on the winning team Echo, got the inaugural Fyr’alath drop, later completing the quest and becoming the first person in the world to wield the fiery axe.
Now that Meeres has the weapon, other World of Warcraft players will be able to collect it as well. In a post on the World of Warcraft forum, community manager Linxy clarified how the Legendary weapon’s drop chance works, and how its bad luck protection system functions. Every week, Death Knights, Paladins, and Warriors have a chance to get the weapon on any difficulty of Amirdrassil, with higher difficulties having better odds. However, players can also collect Lesser Embers of Fyr’alath from Amirdrassil bosses, or Greater Embers of Fyr’alath from Fyrakk himself, which increases their chances of getting the drops on subsequent weeks.
How to Get Fyr’alath, the Dream Render in WoW
-
Defeat Fyrakk in Amirdrassil, the Dream’s Hope, on any difficulty.
- Higher difficulties have a better chance of dropping the Legendary weapon.
- Harder clears include all chances from uncompleted lower difficulties.
- Fyr’alath has a low chance of dropping as Group Loot on Mythic Difficulty.
-
Collect Embers of Fyr’alath to increase the drop chance on subsequent weeks.
- A Greater Ember of Fyr’alath can drop from Fyrakk on any difficulty.
- Lesser Embers of Fyr’alath have a chance to drop from Heroic and Mythic Amirdrassil bosses in World of Warcraft.
- Complete the subsequent crafting and attunement quest to earn the equipable version of Fyr’alath, the Dream Render.
When Embers of Fyr’alath started dropping from Amirdrassil bosses in World of Warcraft this week, many players were confused as to how they worked. While they appreciate the clarification on what these Embers do and how to get them, some players are still wondering how much of a bonus to the drop chance they actually provide, considering there is no way to track how many you have consumed.
Regardless, the only way to get this amazing World of Warcraft Legendary is to defeat Fyrakk. Considering Fyr’alath is the first two-handed Strength Legendary since Shadowmourne in Wrath of the Lich King, it is safe to bet that a lot of Death Knights, Paladins, and Warriors will be trying to clear Amirdrassil soon.
