Taking one of the basic World of Warcraft Priest spell icons, a fan has created an impressive animated version of the Dispel Magic symbol. Though the spell icons of World of Warcraft often share visual similarities with what the tome says that it does, some are often hard to distinguish, like the Dispel Magic ability which is more unique when animated.

A Reddit user has taken the base Dispel Magic icon from the World of Warcraft Priest toolkit and made it more unique from some other abilities by bringing it to life through animation. A Priest will unlock the Dispel Magic ability in World of Warcraft: Dragonflight at level 56, and it removes one buff from an enemy, normally making them weaker in the process. World of Warcraft Classic players will get Dispel Magic much earlier at level 26, which provides the player with 30 additional levels to utilize the spell to rid their foes of some problematic buffs.

Reddit user Jumpkut has garnered 4,400 upvotes on their upload of a brief clip highlighting their impressive animated Dispel Magic icon. Like in the standard version of the Dispel Magic symbol, Jumpkut's animation highlights a pink and purple swirl in the center but unlike the World of Warcraft spell that players are used to, this one is set into mesmerizing motion. Following the trajectory of the Dispel Magic icon's spiral, several luminous pink balls circle from right to left, being slowed down at one point to emphasize the particle effects that maintain the swirling aesthetic.

Upon slowing down their animation, Jumpkut's Dispel Magic bears an uncanny similarity to the original icon, with the footage looking almost identical to the Priest ability when paused. Because Dispel Magic shares some visual commonalities with Mass Dispel and Purify, World of Warcraft fans may also get an idea of what those spells would look like in motion with Jumpkut's video. Dispel Magic isn't the only icon that Jumpkut has animated as part of their celebration of World of Warcraft abilities as they have also replicated the campfire, Bloodlust, Chains of Ice, Renew, and Slimy Ichor.

Given that they're doing plenty of other spells in no particular order, Jumpkut may come back to the Priest class with World of Warcraft animations in the future. Although it's unlikely that World of Warcraft will animate its icons similarly to Jumpkut's clip because of the technical requirements that would be involved, the Reddit user gives fans an idea of how it would look with a modern touch.
