World of Warcraft Reveals Patch 11.0.7 Release Date
Amid its many announcements during Warcraft Direct, WoW confirms when players can travel to the Siren Isle in The War Within's next content update.
Despite this update not even being out yet, World of Warcraft Classic Season of Discovery has already given players a glimpse of what is in store for them next. During its recent Warcraft Direct, Season of Discovery revealed Phase 7, the last update coming to the World of Warcraft Classic Realms. Naxxramas, the final Vanilla WoW raid, will finally throw open its doors in this phase, but the developers also teased brand-new, SoD-original instanced content featuring the Scarlet Crusade, as well as an adventure in Deadwind Pass, either of which could be the larger-than-life encounter World of Warcraft Classic had previously teased.
WoW Classic Season of Discovery Phase 7 Details
- The final phase of Season of Discovery
- Arriving late winter/early spring 2025
- Naxxramas raid
- New Scarlet Crusade-themed instance
- Adventure in Deadwind Pass, potentially involving a Karazhan Crypts dungeon
The update does not have a concrete release date yet, but the recent 2025 roadmap for WoW Classic puts the final update near the end of winter or beginning of spring. Judging from the pace of previous Season of Discovery phases, World of Warcraft will probably release Phase 7 at the end of January at the earliest, or in March at the latest.
Many Season of Discovery fans have been worried about what happens next after Phase 7 wraps up. While World of Warcraft has confirmed Season of Discovery characters won’t be deleted or forced onto normal Classic Era servers, it recently confirmed that it would share the plan for these toons in the near future. If players don’t know before Phase 7’s launch next year, they will likely learn what’s going to happen to their characters shortly after then.
Beyond Season of Discovery, WoW Classic had tons of other things to share at Warcraft Direct. For progression Realms, the final Cataclysm Classic patch, Hour of Twilight, is coming next year, though slightly later than was originally planned, but World of Warcraft Classic also confirmed Mists of Pandaria will arrive next summer. Additionally, fresh Classic progression realms for World of Warcraft’s 20th anniversary are opening up on November 21, which will progress all the way through Vanilla and into Burning Crusade Classic once again. Regardless of what type of Classic WoW experience one prefers, it seems 2025 will be full of ways for fans to enjoy the retro servers.
