However, one of the World of Warcraft Classic Season of Discovery Phase 4 Runes for Paladins includes a special feature that dives deep into the class’ flavor. Once Paladins reach level 50, they can find Squire Cuthbert in the Western Plaguelands to start a questline that awards the Righteous Vengeance Rune. Through a series of quests, the Paladin helps to rescue the squire, but discovers that his teacher, Sir Dalton, was slain by the undead. The player then has the opportunity to pick up where Sir Dalton left off and finish Squire Cuthbert’s training. Using Dalton’s Horn, they can summon Squire Cuthbert to fight alongside them, allowing the young knight to actually gain levels, upgrading his armor as he goes.

How to Get a Squire in WoW Classic Season of Discovery

  • Reach level 50 on a Paladin in WoW Classic Season of Discovery.
  • Find the Fallen Knight in the Western Plaguelands, north of Dalson’s Farm.
  • Locate Squire Cuthbert behind the nearby barn and accept his quest, In a Bind.
  • Find and return Squire Cuthbert’s Blade, slay undead in the area, and then escort Squire Cuthbert back to the body of the Fallen Knight.
  • Burn the body and complete the quest to acquire the Righteous Vengeance Rune and Dalton’s Horn.

Once the Paladin trains Sir Cuthbert to level 60, he reaches the final stage of his development, allowing players to finish what he and his former mentor started: slaying Arkonos the Cursed, a Cult of the Damned leader in the Eastern Plaguelands. Once the Paladin accomplishes this feat, they earn the Shock and Awe Rune and the Avenging Wrath Skill Book in WoW Classic Season of Discovery, all while keeping Dalton’s Horn so they can continue their adventures together.

This is only one of the many secrets players can find in Season of Discovery Phase 4. While Paladins can get their own squires, Priests get a special ring that lets other Priests from the opposite World of Warcraft faction enter their capital cities. World of Warcraft Classic is going all in on class fantasy in Season of Discovery, so fans should expect to find even more in future phases of the experimental game mode.
