World of Warcraft recently revealed the full list of cosmetics players can get at the Trading Post in August, including faction-bending Alliance and Horde mounts, a new Murloc pet, and the Coward’s Violet Target back transmog – the bonus reward for the month. With The War Within releasing in the same month, World of Warcraft fans can pick up these cosmetic items before, during, and after the launch of the new expansion pack.
Introduced early on in Dragonflight, the Trading Post is a feature where players can complete in-game tasks to earn Trader’s Tender, which is then used to buy items from a collection of cosmetics that rotates monthly. Fans who complete enough tasks in their Traveler’s Log also earn a free bonus reward on top of anything they choose to buy.
World of Warcraft Giving Free Game Time to Some Players
In light of some technical issues, Blizzard confirms that World of Warcraft players in some regions will receive additional game time as compensation.
With August rapidly approaching, World of Warcraft has officially revealed the full catalogue of cosmetics coming to the Trading Post with the next monthly refresh. Loosely inspired by the Olympics, the catalogue carries a competitive theme, featuring items like the Kor’kron Warsaber and Sentinel War Wolf – a Horde nightsaber and Alliance dire wolf mount – as well as Worgli the Apprehensive, a Murloc pet waving a white flag. Players can earn pick up tons of transmogs too, including several Stormrider’s Stormhammers arsenals to pair with the different Stormriders Attire WoW they can unlock in The War Within Pre-Patch.

This month’s bonus reward is the Coward’s Violet Target, an archery target transmog for a character’s back. This item continues an unfortunate trend in World of Warcraft, as monthly rewards have been much lower quality throughout most of 2024. While early bonuses included high-ticket items like mounts, weapon arsenals, and full outfit ensembles, most recent rewards have been pets, toys, or singular, niche transmog items, much to the disappointment of players.
On August 22, early access for The War Within starts, with the full expansion releasing on August 26. Fans can complete tasks for the Traveler’s Log in the weeks leading up to World of Warcraft: The War Within in WoW Remix: Mists of Pandaria, by participating in the Radiant Echoes Pre-Patch event, or finish up in Dragonflight Season 4.
Players get some Trader’s Tender just for pre-purchasing World of Warcraft: The War Within, with bigger stipends for those who get the Heroic or Epic Editions. Fans still have a couple of days to purchase items from the July catalogue, so players who need a little more Trader’s Tender might want to buy one of these upgrades so they can pick up the things they want from either month’s collection.
