To encourage more subscriptions and long-term gameplay, Blizzard has announced a special offer for those who purchase a 12-month subscription to World of Warcraft. Included in the offer are a variety of unique mounts for players to use in both World of Warcraft and Cataclysm Classic, a new pet that will accompany players on their journey, and more items yet to come. While these bonus items don't significantly affect gameplay in World of Warcraft, they may be enough to convince players to return and newcomers to jump on board during World of Warcraft: The War Within and World of Warcraft: Cataclysm Classic.

World of Warcraft's Subscription Offer Features Four Mounts for WoW and Cataclysm Classic

The most substantial bonus included in World of Warcraft's current 12-month subscription offer is four new mounts, three for use in World of Warcraft and one for use in World of Warcraft Classic. The mounts featured in the subscription offer are as follows:

  • Startouched Furline Skyriding mount (World of Warcraft)
  • Gigantic Grrloc ground mount (World of Warcraft)
  • Charming Courier Skyriding mount (World of Warcraft)
  • Lava Drake flying mount (World of Warcraft Classic)

The Startouched Furline Skyriding mount is a sizable feline mount that "flies" by running in the air, its blue-glowing tail and paws lighting up the sky. The Gigantic Grrloc ground mount is almost identical to the Gargantuan Grrloc mount that was featured in a previous subscription offer, in that it is a giant Murloc that runs on all fours. The main difference here is the Gigantic Grrloc's red color. Finally, the Charming Courier Skyriding mount is a giant blue-glowing owl that flies gracefully through the skies.

In the early days of World of Warcraft, the best Drake flying mounts were highly sought after, often requiring dozens of hours of reputation farming before players could even purchase them. In the same way, while it is possible to get a Drake mount fairly easily in World of Warcraft Classic, little has changed about the game's best Drake mounts, which are considered as much for their appearance. In light of that, World of Warcraft Classic fans looking to get their hands on a great-looking Drake mount would be remiss to skip out on the Lava Drake flying mount included in WoW's 12-month subscription offer.

Each mount included in the World of Warcraft subscription offer also features a unique animation.

A New Pet Is Also Included in the World of Warcraft Subscription Offer

In addition to the four mounts included in the 12-month subscription offer is the Swoopy owl pet for World of Warcraft Classic. Swoopy is essentially a miniature version of the Charming Courier Skyriding mount on offer, although it does have a few distinct features to set it apart. Swoopy was also included in a 6-month subscription to World of Warcraft that took place earlier this year.

Two More Upcoming Bonus Items Will Be Revealed and Added at a Later Date

Last but not least, World of Warcraft's current 12-month subscription offer includes two more items that have yet to be revealed. However, as Blizzard has confirmed these items will be revealed and added to annual subscribers' accounts during its Lunar New Year festival in 2025, it's safe to assume they will be themed after the holiday. Their silhouettes on the official image for the subscription offer also seem to disclose their identity as a Lunar New Year Drake flying mount for World of Warcraft and a Lunar New Year Drake pet for World of Warcraft Classic.
