World of Warcraft just revealed a new 12-month subscription offer featuring two new mounts. Players can get these mounts for free simply by buying a year of World of Warcraft playtime in advance.

Periodically, World of Warcraft reveals special rewards players can get for free simply by buying bulk subscription time. These 6- and 12-month World of Warcraft bundles have a hefty up-front cost, but technically save players $2 per month on what a typical subscription fee would run. If players plan on subscribing for that many months in a row, and have the funds to put down immediately, these bundles are a great deal.

World of Warcraft Reveals When Long-Awaited Dragonriding Customization Will Become Available

After months of speculation, World of Warcraft finally reveals when a highly-anticipated Dragonriding customization will be added to the game.

This is doubly so because of the special 12-month offer World of Warcraft just revealed. If players buy a year of subscription time, or if they are already on a recurring plan to do so, they receive the Ginormous Grrloc and the Gleaming Moonbeast, two brand-new mounts. The former is a massive purple murloc, and the latter is an armored owlbear using a model from Patch 10.2. On top of that, players get the Nightmarish Emerald Drake for Wrath of the Lich King Classic, plus everything from the current 6-month subscription offer, as well as the one World of Warcraft will reveal early next year.

The promotional image for the 12-month reward features a silhouette teaser for the unannounced 6-month subscription reward. The item is clearly a mount, with its shape reminiscent of the Winding Slitherdrake–a Dragonriding mount introduced in Patch 10.1. However, the dragon seems to have tree-like branches on its head and wings, likely as a tie-in to the Emerald Dream zone from World of Warcraft Patch 10.2. Players will have to wait until the offer is revealed early next year to find out what it is for certain.

Many World of Warcraft players were impressed by these new mounts. The Gargantuan Grrloc–the green-colored cousin to the Ginormous Grrloc–was available in a previous 12-month offer, so players are excited to get another version of the popular mount. The Gleaming Moonbeast, on the other hand, is a dream come true for Night Elf fans, many of whom cannot wait for World of Warcraft to release the matching Heritage set the owlbear’s armor is based on.

Fans looking to get more free World of Warcraft stuff are in luck. Right now, players can get the Armored Bloodwing mount in World of Warcraft via Prime Gaming, and with Guardians of the Dream releasing soon, players can probably expect some more Twitch Drop campaigns as well.

World of Warcraft is available now for PC.
