World of Tanks has officially released update 2.0, which the devs have named the biggest in the game's history. Along with the new patch, World of Tanks shared a trailer providing an overview of the new content, improved systems, and gifts now available to all players.
Developed by Wargaming, World of Tanks puts players in command of more than 1,000 modern and classic tanks, such as the M1 Abrams and the Sherman, which were used in World War 2. The tactical MMO features several modes, the most prominent being Random Battles, Rush, Frontline with 30v30 combat on huge maps, and a battle royale with vehicles and specific improvements. World of Tanks is an iconic name when it comes to games focused on tank combat, and the experience promises to be even more engaging after the newest patch.

World of Tanks released the 2.0 update on September 3, bringing a new wave of content for players to enjoy. The World of Tanks patch was unveiled at Gamescom 2025 and introduces 16 Tier XI tanks with unique mechanics. A major rebalancing for hundreds of vehicles is also available to make gameplay fairer and more fun, regardless of the player's tier. Matchmaking is smarter after the 2.0 update, with changes such as limits for tank destroyers and light tanks. The Garage has been given a new interface that makes navigation more intuitive and faster for World of Tanks players.
Alongside improvements to balance, matchmaking, and navigation, World of Tanks is introducing content beyond the new armored vehicles. One of the highlights is the all-new Operation Boiling Point, a story-driven PvE mission in which players earn rewards such as 2D styles, decals, emblems, and inscriptions. This mission takes place in Nordskar, a new map set on a base on a volcanic island in Norway, also playable in Random Battles. Fans of the war game can check out Personal Missions 3.0 and Operations Room 2.0, the latter allowing them to take on special missions, generate a video of their journey in the game, and more.
While Wargaming's next game is not available just yet, players are invited to check out World of Tanks for the free rewards in the meantime. Veteran players can claim a full Tech Tree branch (Tier VI–X), a resource pack with 2,500 Gold, 15,000 Bonds, 10 million Credits, 60 days of Premium Account, and more. Gamers who join after the 2.0 update can get two full Tech Tree branches (Tier VI–X), three additional premium tanks, 60 days of Premium Account, 6 million credits, and other perks.
