While there are many popular Wordle clones and copycats all over the web, players will find the original on the New York Times Games website. It's been hosted there since the newspaper giant purchased it back in February of this year. All the hints, answers, and rule sets in this article will be about the NYTs version; other sites and apps will most likely have different answers and may have slightly different rules. That being said, here's how to play the original version of Wordle:

Head to the New York Times Wordle website.
Choose a starting Wordle word. It should be five-letters long and a real English word.
Type the starting word into the website and press enter.
The letters will change color.
Green letters are right, gray are wrong, and yellow are right but in the wrong place in the word.
Using these hints, players have six total tries to get to the word of the day.
There is only one answer a day, and the puzzle resets at 12:00 AM local time.
