In order to play, head to the New York Times Game website, and look for Wordle.
Next, choose a starting Wordle word. It must be five letters long and a real English word.
Type it into the NYTs site and press enter.
The letters will change colors to give players clues to the answer.
Green letters are correct, gray are wrong, and yellow letters are correct but in the wrong location in the word.
Given those clues, players have five more guesses to get to the right word.
Wordle answers can contain duplicated letters, like the word CHEER.
It also tends to favor the American spelling of words.
Puzzles reset daily at midnight local time.
This means there is only one puzzle per day. This is part of the reason why the Wordle archives that the New York Times recently shut down were so popular. It gave players a way to play more of these puzzles.
