Wordle is a browser-based word puzzle game. While originally created by the programmer Josh Wardle, Wordle was purchased by the New York Times and is now hosted through the NYT site. While there are clones of the word game all over the internet, this is the original version, and all rules, hints, and answers in this article will be about the NYTs Wordle.

So in order to play today's puzzle, players will need to choose a starting word just like the previous 311 Wordle puzzles of the day. It needs to be five letters long, a real English word, and not one of the words the NYTs censored from Wordle. Next, type the chosen starting word into the site and press enter. The letters will then change color.

Green letters are right.
Gray letters are wrong.
Yellow letters are right but in the wrong place in the word.

Given these clues, players have five more guesses to get to the answer before they lose. Puzzles reset every day at midnight local time. There is only one puzzle a day, and since the New York Times has shut down all the Wordle archives, players will need to check out one of the clones in order to get more of this word game.
