Players who crave speed in Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty will be dumping their levels into earth virtues. While all characters move at the same speed when unencumbered, only characters with high earth scores don't slow down when slapping on heavy armor.
Earth builds utilize the spells that buff themselves and absorb damage. With the right weaponry, a speedy player in Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty will find that earth builds are the way to go for a quick and clean run on virtually any mission.
Primary Melee Weapon: Glaive (Trimphant Conquest)
Each virtue buffs certain attack tactics and weapons. For the earth virtue, that's the glaive. The glaive may seem too slow for a primary weapon, but that's not an issue for earth builds. Their speed can get them behind bosses where they can hack away without fear of reprisal.
Players who excel at blocking and parrying will find the glaives capitalize on stunned enemies. Dodging is also a great move as running to the exposed side of enemies when they go in for a strike is what the glaice seems to do best.
Secondary Melee Weapon: Hammer (Quake Griffin Hammer)
While glaives might be officially the best weapon to use, no individual weapon gets more damage boost from earth virtue levels than the Quake Griffin Hammer. Again, this is another somewhat slow weapon, but the extra damage in critical moments is unparalleled for this build.
Learn to switch melee weapons quickly. Use the glaives to drain the enemy's spirit bar and, when they get stunned, pull out the hammer to deliver a massive lethal blow. The extra damage from this weapon cannot be understated; it will cut boss fights into fractions of how long they can last.
Ranged Weapon: Repeating Crossbow (Bamboo Repeating Crossbow)
No ranged weapon benefits from the earth virtue. Because of this, it's best to take the weapon with the most inherent damage. That distinction goes to the Bamboo Repeating Crossbow. Glaives do well in one-on-one situations. When there is a group on the horizon, take out most of them with this before engaging directly.
The fact that this weapon is repeating only sweetens the deal. Headshot aficionados will love how this swings the battle in their favor. Players don't get this weapon until further along, so plan on using an early game build in the meantime.
Thrown Weapon: Poison Throwing Knife
Damage over time rounds out this weapon arrangement. When getting a brief window to attack, cast a buff and toss in a poison throwing knife. This will deal damage while waiting for the enemy to take a swing, moving a battle of attrition in the player's favor.
The burst on earth builds are unreal, but these moment-to-moment damage bits add up too. Pair this damage over time with an expertly timed Divine Beast cast and many bosses don't last much longer than the opening salvo.
Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
