Netflix has shared a new The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep trailer. With a runtime of two minutes, the promo video offers a decent-sized look at the upcoming The Witcher film.
While the live-action The Witcher show is Netflix's most popular adaptation of this IP to date, the streaming giant has also experimented with other projects set in Andrzej Sapkowski's dark fantasy world. One of them is The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf, an animated fantasy film following young Vesemir, which premiered in August 2021. A month later, Netflix announced its second anime feature film based on The Witcher IP, subtitled Sirens of the Deep. The company has been sharing glimpses of the upcoming movie since 2023.
Continuing this trend, Netflix premiered its official trailer for Sirens of the Deep on Tuesday, January 14. The video offers a fast-paced preview of the film's events, which are an adaptation of A Little Sacrifice, one of The Witcher short stories published in Sword of Destiny, the second book in Sapkowski's hit saga.
Sirens of the Deep Features Geralt's Voice Actor From The Witcher Games
Fans of CD Projekt Red's The Witcher franchise might recognize one of the voices featured prominently throughout the trailer, as American actor Doug Cockle reprises his role of Geralt of Rivia from the games in the upcoming film. British actress Anya Chalotra who portrayed Yennefer of Vengerberg in Netflix's live-action show also plays her in Sirens of the Deep. Another returning name is Joey Batey, best known as Jaskier from The Witcher show. Christina Wren, who played Capt. Carrie Ferris in the 2013 Man of Steel, voices minstrel Essi Daven, one of the central characters in A Little Sacrifice and—consequently—Sirens of the Deep.
In addition to the newly premiered trailer, Netflix shared some previously unseen still frames from the upcoming film. The images illustrate Sirens of the Deep's clean art style, which is a result of collaboration between three production companies: Studio Mir, Platige Image, and Hivemind.
The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep is scheduled to premiere on February 11, exclusively on Netflix. The animated movie likely won't be the only piece of The Witcher media to reach the streaming service this year, as the fourth season of Netflix's live-action show wrapped up filming in October 2024 and is expected to debut in the second half of 2025. Liam Hemsworth will replace Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia in the upcoming season. Netflix has previously announced that the live-action The Witcher show will conclude with Season 5.
