Denise Gough, the actor behind Yennefer’s voice in The Witcher 3, has recently stated that she does not know whether the character will return in The Witcher 4. Yennefer of Vengerberg is a popular character with the fandom of both the games and the books, so it would be disappointing for some people if she does not appear in the upcoming The Witcher 4.

The Witcher 4 Should Follow In Cyberpunk 2077's Footsteps On Launch

The Witcher 4 may find similar success if it follows Cyberpunk 2077's approach to one type of release shortly after its launch.

Now, Denise Gough was interviewed by Eurogamer and revealed that she did not know whether the character would return to The Witcher 4 or not. Yennefer is an important character in The Witcher 3, helping Geralt during his journey and serving as a romance option. The sorcerer originally appeared in the books, which are set before the trilogy of games, and is a beloved character by the fanbase due to her abrasive but unique and fun personality.

Yennefer's Voice Actor Doesn't Know If The Character Will be Back in The Witcher 4

Gough’s response may indicate at least three different outcomes: either Yennefer will not be a part of the game, her appearance will not be as significant as in the previous title, or she may return but with a different voice actor. While Jo Wyatt played Ciri in The Witcher 3, for example, Ciara Berkeley will be the voice of Ciri in The Witcher 4. So, the same may happen with Yennefer.

Until now, only Ciri and Geralt have been confirmed to appear in The Witcher 4. Soon after the game unveiled its first trailer, the developers confirmed that Geralt will appear in the new entry, but the story will be much more focused on his adopted daughter.

Unfortunately, the developers have not revealed many details about the future of the Witcher series. Last year, CDPR addressed romances in The Witcher 4, confirming that the title will have them and that the team wants to ensure that they will offer a meaningful narrative experience. As usual, however, gamers will still need to wait before they can learn additional details about this and many other aspects of the eagerly awaited game.
