A cosplayer recently showed off an impressive rendition of Triss Merigold from The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Geralt of Rivia has no shortage of enemies throughout the Witcher series, which makes his few allies all the more valuable. One of the most prominent is Triss, a powerful Temerian sorceress and former lover of the White Wolf who appears in all three of the Witcher games in addition to the original Witcher novels. Her most recent mainline gaming appearance was in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, where she accompanies the player on many key quests.
Thanks to both her importance in Geralt’s life and her interesting backstory that spans the lore of all three mainline Witcher entries, Triss is hugely popular among The Witcher fans. Some of these players have even managed to recreate her different Witcher 3 outfits, either as a physical cosplay or by modeling a character after her in other RPGs like Baldur's Gate 3.
One recent example comes from Reddit user and cosplayer CarryKey, who has dressed up as other iconic gaming characters like Morrigan from Darkstalkers and Jinx from League of Legends and its connected Arcane series. They shared some of their most recent work on r/witcher with a photo of themselves in Triss’s battle attire from The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, consisting of an orange, blue, and white jacket with burgundy sleeves and Triss's tied red hair. Other Reddit users have praised the cosplay.
Impressive Triss Cosplay Enchants Witcher 3 Fans
As of this writing, developer CD Projekt Red is reportedly working on the next installment in the Witcher series, under the working title of Project Polaris and currently being marketed as The Witcher 4. Details about this new chapter are still sparse, but The Witcher 4 is said to be the start of a brand-new trilogy, and a recent leak suggests that British actor Jake Lampert will be voicing a new character named Branko.
Fans still don’t know if Triss will return in the next Witcher game, but in the meantime, many are showing off their love for the sorceresses through cosplay and creative Witcher 3 artwork. Whether it’s through her supporting role in the CDPR-developed games, the live-action Witcher TV series, or the original Witcher books by Andrzej Sapkowski, Triss Merigold has made a lasting impression among players, as evidenced by how many have recreated her appearance from The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
