Normally, when it comes to magic, most fantasy media end up showing these powers originating from the user itself in some form or the other. The elements are played around with to lead to some amazing fireworks, earth-shattering displays of strength, and everything else along the same lines. However, Wildermyth takes a completely original approach to this system, which is pretty interesting to see.

Instead of the usual system of magic that everyone is all too familiar with, Wildermyth uses the concept of interfusing with objects and using abilities that are related to these interfused items. This makes the Mystic one of the best classes in the game in terms of sheer diversity alone, and here are some of the best ways that players can make the most of this class in Wildermyth.

10 Earthscribe

Through Shot in Wildermyth

There are various upgrades that let players enhance the power of their interfusions for certain objects. With the Earthscribe ability, players gain more powers when interfusing with objects made of stone or bone.

Being an Earthscribe is good for players who want their Mystic to be more defensive. It lets allies wall with interfused objects, gain a Rock Wall buff to increase defenses, and improves the defensive stats of the Mystic who's interfused with these specific objects.

9 Mythweaver

Anything that characters can interfuse with that might have histories of their own turn into damage-dealing behemoths with the use of Mythweaver. It unlocks new interfused abilities that turn enemies into walking pincushions by the time players are done with them.

The Mythweaver upgrade improves the strength of these abilities even more, which can make for some immense destruction indeed. Most strong enemies will find themselves at the mercy of Mystics as they smash their head in with books and limit their movements by constricting them.

8 Elementalist

Battling in Wildermyth

Fire, wood, and liquid are also some things that Mystics can interfuse with in Wildermyth. With this ability, they can become damage dealers of the highest level as enemies end up succumbing to these mighty blows.

Interfused blazes don't burn out, and Mystics can fuse with two wooden objects to create a massive explosion in between that shreds armor and takes away a chunk of health. Interfused liquids also give access to Infernal Rain, which hits like a truck too!

7 Humanist

There are various man-made objects that Mystics can interfuse with in the game. With the Humanist upgrade, the damage of these interfusions increases quite a bit.

Shardnado and Stunning Barrage are especially effective, being able to hit enemies in a wide area for serious damage. Mystics with this ability will be a force to be reckoned with in Wildermyth.

6 Naturalist

A party in combat in Wildermyth

Players who fight enemies on open surfaces quite a bit will soon see that plants and trees will be in abundance to be interfused with. This is where the Naturalist ability can prove to be pretty handy indeed.

For the most part, this upgrade doesn't increase damage all that much. Instead, it lets players mess around with enemies and create more opportunities to interfuse or use multiple abilities in one go.

5 Sylvan Menace

Fighting a battle in Wildermyth

There are various transformations that characters can undergo to unlock some really cool and exciting moves. Being a Sylvan who's in touch with nature is a great way to make the most of a Mystic's natural inclination towards magic.

Even at low levels, a Sylvan with high Potency can wipe out enemies with ease through a single use of Witherbolt. It's one of the best abilities in the game that will have players spamming this move over and over again to take out groups of foes.

4 Stormtouched Electrocutioner

Four Wildermyth heroes surround a large gorgon creature in battle.

During a person's adventures, they might run into a farmer who is trying to guard a Stormwell. Finishing this encounter with the farmer alive and well will lead to a party member gaining the opportunity to become Stormtouched.

These electrical powers are best suited for Mystics who can zap and stun foes with ease. Just like Witherbolt, Jumpjolt hits multiple enemies, although the damage decreases with each hit instead of increasing.

3 Interfusion Specialist

There are many abilities a Mystic can get that give many passive bonuses upon interfusion. Openmind is a great place to start, letting players interfuse with an extra object while increasing the range of said interfusion as well.

Soulsplitting improves a Mystic's defense after interfusion while Vigorflow does the same but for attack. Players who want others to benefit from an attack boost through interfusion can do the same with the Spiritblade ability too!

2 Enemy Puppeteer

Compulsion is a really powerful ability that Mystics can use to throw a wrench into enemy plans. This ability lets players move enemies around wherever they want, which is pretty neat indeed.

With an upgrade, Compulsion turns into a Swift Action that makes things more dynamic and engaging in Wildermyth. Forcing an enemy into a gathering before hitting them with an AOE attack feels extremely powerful and satisfying indeed.

1 Master Of The Elements

For the most part, players won't find themselves lacking in terms of objects that can be interfused with all over the battle arena. However, there are times when Mystics have to expose themselves to make the most of their interfusion powers.

This can be negated with abilities like Arches and Ignite. The former lets players create a tree that pins surrounding enemies on an appropriate tile, while Ignite lest Mystics ignite a piece of debris that is automatically interfused with too!

Wildermyth is available now on PC. A Nintendo Switch version is currently in development.
