Now that Wild Hearts has been released to the world, players all over are gearing up to join the kemono hunt. With a unique take on the popular 'hunter' genre, Wild Hearts tasks players with taking on massive, nature-infused monsters, either solo or as part of a co-op team. Like many other games that hit the market, Wild Hearts provides players with several perks for pre-ordering and purchasing the "Karakuri" deluxe edition.
While unlocking these special items is relatively simple, the game does not guide players through the process of locating and using them. The emote and stamps unlocked by pre-order can be accessed as soon as players load the game, while the deluxe items become available shortly after completing Wild Hearts' tutorial section.
Where are the Pre-Order Items?
Players who pre-ordered Wild Hearts will see their items listed as the game checks for "add-ons" each time it loads. Once players enter the game's opening tutorial section, they need only open the main menu to ensure they have received the correct items. This menu will contain an "Add-Ons" section, which will list all DLC added to the game at any given moment. Players should see the six pre-order items listed as "enabled."
What are the Pre-Order Items?
The pre-order bonus should include the following items:
-
"Ferocious Kemono" emote
- The emote works the same in Wild Hearts as it does in many current multiplayer games. This will be used to 'communicate thoughts and feelings to other members of your hunting group.'
-
Perk 1-5 Stamps
- Each stamp contains a unique image that can be shared through Wild Hearts' chat system.
How to Use Wild Hearts' Pre-Order Items
Accessing the Chat Menu
Wild Hearts pre-order items are all available to use in the game's chat menu. To access this system, players can either use the "Chat" selection on the pause menu or hold right on the d-pad - which brings up the chat wheel - and press square (on PlayStation).
The chat screen allows players to customize their chat wheel with text, stamp, and emote options. Once in the chat screen, press R3 to bring up the wheel editor. Once players have picked their desired options, simply hold right on the d-pad to use the chat wheel.
Like many online games, Wild Hearts does not automatically go into a pause state when the pause button is pressed. A menu will pop up, but the game continues to run in the background. Players must choose the "Pause" option to halt the game.
Where to Find the Wild Hearts Karakuri Deluxe Items
The Wild Hearts Karakuri edition comes with several items that can be found in the same chat system as the pre-order bonuses, but it also includes several pieces of armor and equipment that players can use on their hunts.
To get access to the deluxe armor, the player must first reach a specific point in the early part of Wild Hearts story. The protagonist will come across a woman who seems to be unconscious in a small cave area. The game will take this opportunity to teach the basic camp mechanics.
After a small camp has been set up, Wild Hearts' first full kemono battle will begin. Follow the game's instructions to defeat the Ragetail.
Upon returning to the cave, the player will help the young woman establish a small forge that she can use to help with hunts. This will be where Wild Hearts' weapons and armor will be crafted. Once the forge is crafted, the player can approach it to access a menu.
Choose 'change equipment' to access the player customization menu. The deluxe armor sets will be seen in the 'weapons & armor' section, in the third and final row of inventory boxes. The player can only equip whole sets of this armor and cannot pick and choose pieces.
