In fact, Solo Leveling was also crowned Anime of the Year, and more recently, it was also revealed that the anime series is the most watched in the history of Crunchyroll, which is absolutely massive. Naturally, with such hype behind it, it is no surprise to know that Solo Leveling Season 3 is highly anticipated, and that every fan is talking about its release date already. While nothing major has been revealed yet, fans might do well to keep in mind that the next season of the anime could actually head their way sooner than they expect.

At this point, there is no official release date for Solo Leveling Season 3. However, fans have heard bits from here and there which suggest that Solo Leveling Season 3 could very well be a while away. Most recently, Sota Furuhashi had this to say about the release date of Solo Leveling Season 3:

I think more than anyone, I am anxiously awaiting Season 3! But in truth, between Season 1 and Season 2, 220,000 frames of animation were created. So, if it were up to me, I'd say let's wait until the next Olympics (2028) to see what's going to happen with Season 3. But I think that's more up to Kaneko and A-1 Pictures.

Many fans have taken this to mean that Solo Leveling Season 3 will actually drop in 2028 and that a 2026 release date isn't possible. However, as mentioned in the very statement, this is the personal opinion of Sota Furuhashi, and not an official statement. In fact, there is a big reason why Solo Leveling Season 3 might actually drop before 2028.

A 2028 release window for Solo Leveling Season 3 would actually be very good for the series, since that would ensure the staff isn't too strained as well as a very healthy production schedule. It would ensure Solo Leveling puts out the high quality that it deserves. However, in today's world, Animation Studios and TV stations don't care much about the conditions of the anime staff. What they care about the most is making more money, and pushing back Solo Leveling Season 3 to 2028 would actually be quite detrimental. Solo Leveling is riding an absolutely incredible wave of hype at the moment and to put the brakes on it at this circuit time would be sabotaging the series.

At the very least, despite all the talk, the chances of Solo Leveling Season 3 dropping in 2028 are low. Now, that doesn't necessarily mean that the staff will be put under a lot of pressure. Solo Leveling Season 3 doesn't have to come out in the early half of 2026, but a middle ground can easily be reached.

Fans shouldn't expect Solo Leveling Season 3 to drop in Winter 2026. But, a 2028 release date isn't all that realistic either. At the very least, the best time for Solo Leveling Season 3 to drop would be late 2026, or around January 2027, which would be absolutely perfect for all the parties involved.
