Cries In The Distance is one of the many side quests in Where Winds Meet. While on top of a mountain investigating a broken bell, players will hear distressed cries in the distance. Someone is calling for help and seems to be stuck somewhere below ground. How To Trigger Cries In The Distance Quest In WWM - Where Winds Meet
Head to the Peace Bell Tower located southwest of Heaven's Pier and drop from the top of the mountain to find a hatch. This is the entrance to an underground cave where there's someone trapped inside.
After finding out that the voice belongs to Feng Jisheng, you had an archery competition with him at the beginning of WWM, turn to the tree roots and use a fire arrow to burn them.
Open the chest and stand on the pressure plate to open the wall where Feng is locked.
Talk with him as he explains the Tai Chi mystery and how the contraptions work. Next, as Fend stands on one of the pressure plates, stand on the other one to summon the Yin-Yang Dial and begin to unravel the Tai Chi mysteries in Where Winds Meet.
How To Unravel The Tai Chi Mysteries In WWM - Where Winds Meet
To solve the puzzle and unravel the Tai Chi mysteries in WWM, players need to rotate the earth and heaven contraption to face opposite directions while making the water and fire contraptions face each other. The contraptions can be spun clockwise and counter-clockwise. Additionally, the Yin-Yang Dial can also be rotated. While the earth and heaven contraptions will rotate separately, the water and fire ones will move together.
First, approach the contraption (3) in front of the green leaves and tree roots, where you shot the fire arrow, and rotate it counter-clockwise once to face the wall.
The contraption on the opposite side (4) is already facing the wall, so don't rotate it. These two are the heaven and earth contraptions.
Second, approach the Yin-Yang dial and rotate it once to stop the fire and water contraptions from moving together.
Next, rotate the contraption between the two candle shelves (2) counter-clockwise once and move to the one facing it (1) to rotate it clockwise two times. These two are the fire and water contraptions. Rotate the Yin-Yang Dial once more to solve the Tai Chi mysteries puzzle and unlock a way down.
How To Complete Cries In The Distance Quest In WWM - Where Winds Meet
Use Mighty Drop to land safely and search the area to collect clues. Once you are done, speak with Feng to proceed forward.
The next area looks like a training ground and a Thick-Skinned Albino Black Bear will appear. Young heroes need to defeat it while Feng uses his special move, playing dead.
The bear won't take damage from normal attacks. The only way to defeat it is by using Tai Chi mystic skill.
Once you pick it up, throw it against the rocks on the right, left, and front to defeat it.
Open the chests and claim the rewards, then speak with Feng one last time to complete the Cries in the Distance quest in Where Winds Meet.
