Game of Thrones may have ended, but a series of prequel series are keeping its world alive. Fans are already enjoying a deep dive into the rise and fall of House Targaryen through House of the Dragon. And now, it's about time for A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, another Game of Thrones prequel series, to take the spotlight.

George R.R. Martin gave A Knight of the Seven Kingdom's showrunner 10 to 12 outlines so HBO can finish the series before GRRM writes more books.

A Knight Of The Seven Kingdoms Is Set 90 Years Before Game Of Thrones

AKOTSK Begins In 209 AC (After Aegon's Conquest)

Ser Duncan the Tall with his horses in A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms

This is the lingering question that every Game of Thrones fan may ask while watching A Knight Of The Seven Kingdoms. Well, the first season of the upcoming prequel series will be based on The Hedge Knight, which is set around 90 years before the events of Game of Thrones. When you compare it to House of the Dragon, AKOTSK is set roughly 75-78 years after the event that we all know as the Dance of the Dragons.

The story of A Knight Of The Seven Kingdoms is set in an era ruled by Aerys I Targaryen. This is one of the most peaceful times in the history of Westeros, which makes it perfect for Ser Duncan the Tall to carry on his adventures and change his fortunes. The fact that it is a peaceful era set after the Dance of the Dragons means that there will be no dragons.

Of course, some GOT fans might expect to see deadly, large-scale battles, but it's not that kind of story. Sure, the series maintains that dark, gritty tone, and while it is called a "peaceful era," we all know that Westeros will always be harsh and violent. Instead of featuring dangers like White Walkers or large-scale battles, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms will center mostly around the personal struggles of Ser Duncan the Tall as he ventures forth with his squire, Egg.
