Status effects can be inflicted on top of base damage from various weapons and spells in Elden Ring: Shadow Of The Erdtree. These status effects will build up and eventually go into effect, dealing high amounts of damage and potentially debuffing the target.
Players can increase various resistances to try and avoid status effects, but this is often a give and take as some armor types focus on specific resistances without any offering across-the-board protection. The Mottled Necklace +2 offers a huge boost in multiple resistances; here's where to find it.
Best Starting Gear For Shadow of the Erdtree
To get ready for the Elden Ring DLC, follow this guide to get everything you need to start Shadow of the Erdtree on the right foot.
Where To Find The Mottled Necklace +2 In Shadow Of The Erdtree
To find the Mottled Necklace +2, players will need to start at the Rauh Ancient Ruins, West Site of Grace. Head into the ruins to the southwest and up the stairs. In the larger room take the first left and follow the path to the elevator that brings you up to the pond outside. Ride Torrent past the knight and to the back right side of the pond to find a path along the cliff side of the mountain.
Continue heading northeast to find stack rocks that can be destroyed to unlock the Spiritspring down below. Drop down to the spiritspring before using it again jumping to the northeast. Land on the staircase ahead and climb to the top to find a check along the back right corner of the destroyed platform. In the chest will be the Mottled Necklace +2.
All Light Greatswords & How To Get Them in Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree
Light Greatswords are a new weapon type added in the Elden Ring DLC. There are only three of these weapons in the entire game.
How Good Is The Mottled Necklace +2
- Robustness: Determines the player's resistance to Bleed and Frostbite.
- Immunity: Determines the player's resistance to Scarlet Rot and Poison.
- Focus: Determine the players' resistance to Sleep and Madness.
The Mottled Necklace +2 offers a huge boost in Robustness, Immunity, and Focus, making the player much less susceptible to most of the potential status effects in the game. The bonuses from this Talisman aren't based on your own stats, giving all players of any build the same benefits.
Overall this Talisman is a good option to double up on a specific resistance against a particular enemy, but isn't an ideal Talisman for most of the game. Not every enemy in the game has access to these status effects, and oftentimes players will kill the enemy before the status effect is fully built up. When exploring, it's usually a better option to pick a Talisman that focuses on killing the enemy faster than worrying about how their attacks affect you.
