Glastrier is one of Calyrex's steeds in Pokemon Sword/Shield. It is opposite to Spectrier with low Speed and Special Attack, but incredible base Attack, Defense, and Special Defense. In Gen 8, you had to choose between Glastrier and Spectrier for Calyrex in the Crown Tundra DLC. In Pokemon Scarlet & Violet, you can get both.
The only way to "spawn" Glastrier is to have a Glastrier Treat, a key item given to you by a man named Snacksworth. However, those who want Glastrier before completing the Indigo Disk storyline are in for disappointment. Glastrier, like the other pre-Gen 9 Legendary Pokemon, can't be caught until you've defeated and captured Terapagos.
Raikou Location in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet (Indigo Disk DLC)
Raikou is one of many Legendary Pokemon that can be caught in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet's Indigo Disk DLC, so here's how you can find it.
How to Get Glastrier Treat (Where to Find Snacksworth)
10 BBQs (Scarlet), 1 Group BBQ (Violet)
If you've caught Terapagos, you'll wake up the next day in your room at Blueberry Academy. You'll then be called to Carmine's classroom to speak with Ms. Briar, but if you want to get Legendary Pokemon-hunting, then you'll want to go to the Entrance of the academy instead.
Standing in front of the row of seats on the right (facing the receptionist counter), you'll find a man dressed in dark blue who wasn't there before you faced off against Terapagos. This is Snacksworth, and he'll give you one Legendary Pokemon Treat for every 10 Solo BBQs or 1 Group BBQ.
BBQs, or Blueberry Quests, are the assignments you'll get while you're in Terarium. You can do 3 at a time, and for every one that you complete, you'll get a new one. They're simple tasks that reward a little to average amount of BP (Blueberry Points). Fortunately for Snacksworth, you'll only need to complete BBQs instead of paying him in BP for Pokemon Treats.
If you're playing Pokemon Scarlet, you have a chance of receiving the Glastrier Treat for completing 10 (or more) Blueberry Quests. Since the Treat is randomized, you may not get it on your first try.
How to Get Glastrier Treat in Pokemon Violet
If you're playing Pokemon Violet, you can get a Glastrier Treat by completing 1 Group BBQ. As their name indicates, you'll need to be in a Union Circle to get (and complete) a Group BBQ. Unlike regular/solo BBQs, Group BBQs are indicated on the BBQ screen (tap right on the directional pad) by their gold background. You'll get 1 Group BBQ for every 3 "red" BBQ you complete.
There are 12 Treats you can receive from doing 12 Group BBQs.
Glastrier Location in Scarlet and Violet
Glaseado Mountain
Once you receive a Glastrier Treat, Snacksworth will give you a hint about its whereabouts:
"I was off hiking among Paldea's peaks for a bit of fun, mountain climbing being a bit of a hobby. I was trekking up and up those snowy hillsides, and I figured I must have been nearly to the summit when I came across some ruins. Perhaps they'd been a house once? The walls still looked sound enough that I thought I could take shelter and have myself a little rest. I'd no sooner drawn close for a look than this Pokémon appeared, white as the driven snow! Glastrier'd been sleeping inside! When it popped its long face out, the fright nearly froze my heart!"
The mountain in question is Glaseado Mountain, and the "ruins" are the remains of a house on the hillside east of Glaseado Gym. Glastrier doesn't spawn in the ruins itself, but it'll appear on the nearby hills by a tree.
Refer to the orange objective flag in the above image for the exact location.
Pokemon Scarlet & Violet Indigo Disk DLC: All Trainer Locations
Pokemon Scarlet & Violet's Indigo Disk DLC has some really challenging trainer battles that can help players level up their team and get BP.
Glastrier's Moves and Weaknesses
Type: Ice
The Glastrier in Pokemon Scarlet/Violet is level 70, just like its Ghost-type counterpart, Spectrier. As an Ice-type, Glastrier has several weaknesses, and its high Defense and Special Defense means you'll be chipping away at its HP in-battle. Remember to save your game before attempting to catch it.

- The good news about Glastrier is that this one's moveset has no STAB moves, and both of its attacking moves, Thrash and Double-Edge, can't harm Ghost-type Pokemon. Thus, you should consider bringing a Ghost-type Pokemon to fight Glastrier.
- If you don't want to use a Ghost-type, then you'll want to be cautious of both Thrash and Double-Edge. Thrash will make Glastrier confused at the end of 3-4 turns. Since Glastrier can hit itself in confusion, it has a chance of knocking itself out. Double-Edge has recoil, which means Glastrier will take damage each time it successfully uses this move.
- Taunt and Iron Defense are status moves that, respectively, prevent your team from using non-damaging moves and sharply raises Glastrier's Defense. Since Iron Defense stacks onto Glastrier's already-formidable Defense, it may take you some time before you can get its HP in orange/red.
