When Does Star Wars Outlaws Take Place

Star Wars Outlaws takes place between Episode 5: The Empire Strikes Back, and Episode 6: Return Of The Jedi. While reeling from the events of A New Hope and the destruction of the Death Star, The Empire returns with even greater strength against the rebel alliance in The Empire Strikes Back, and by the events of Outlaws, they are still at this height of power.

While it is still shown here and there that the rebel alliance is alive and operating, preparing for the events of Return Of The Jedi, the Empire's strength is even higher and clearly seen throughout Outlaws. The Empire is greatly targeting any potential threats in the galaxy to prevent another attack like the Death Star, and that feverous intent is clearly seen through the Wanted system in the game.

Easter Eggs & Connects To Star Wars Lore

Considering the Hutt Cartel is introduced early on, it may not be a major surprise to know that Jabba the Hutt does appear in Star Wars Outlaws and is growing his cartel during this time, with Kay potentially helping depending on the player's choices. It's also no secret that Han Solo is currently frozen and in Jabba's possession, with him being a fun easter egg players can find when infiltrating Jabba's palace.

Also on Tatooine, players can run into the infamous Krayt Dragon seen in The Mandalorian. Lando Calrissian also gets some screen time in Star Wars Outlaws, though this may be delaying him in tracking down who has Han and how to free him. One of the most debated topics among Star Wars fans is if Han or Greedo shot first, and Star Wars Outlaws gives players the ability to see that Greedo did shoot first, at least in the creator's eyes.
