So far in 2025, I've enjoyed the gripping Max medical drama The Pitt and Hulu's drama Paradise starring Sterling K. Brown, but I'm also looking forward to Netflix's Wednesday season 2 and Stranger Things season 5. Both shows have creepy and memorable settings, well-written and dynamic characters, and more than a few mysteries.
The Duffer Brothers confirmed a Stranger Things 2025 release date, but at the time of this writing, there is no exact date yet. Now that Wednesday season 2 is coming out in the summer of 2025, with part one arriving on August 6th and part two on September 3rd, I'm wondering when Stranger Things season 5 could come out.

Could Stranger Things Season 5 Be Released In November 2025?
Since Wednesday season 2 is being released in August and September 2025, I think Stranger Things season 5 could come out in the fall of 2025. Maybe the final season could be released in October or November 2025. While I'm not sure that the final season would be released in December since that month is usually centered around Christmas movies, that's definitely a possibility, too. I previously thought fans would get to see the last battle between Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) and Vecna (Jamie Campbell Brown) in the summer, but I think Netflix will stagger the releases of Wednesday
and Stranger Things. Fans need time to watch each season and properly enjoy the new episodes.
Of course, it's also possible that Netflix could surprise fans and announce that the final season of Stranger Things is coming out in June or July. It would also be great to see a trailer or even a brief teaser. But, since so much editing and production work goes into every season of the popular series, it's possible that June or July would be too soon. So, October or November seems like a safe bet.
There's also one big question: will Stranger Things season 5 be released in one or two parts? I think the last episodes should come out all at once since it would be fun to binge-watch them. I'm sure I'm not the only fan eager to dive into the next part of this fascinating story and to find out the. However, I'm also wondering if the Stranger Things series finale will be released at least a week or so after the other episodes. That would make the final episode feel like a big and exciting event. I'm also excited that the series finale is going to be long, which I think is the right choice. A lot needs to happen, and viewers need to say goodbye properly. Finn Wolfhard called the final season "a huge season" and, according to Vanity Fair, Matt Duffer said on the Happy Sad Confused podcast:
"I would expect the finale to be at least two hours."

While fans are still waiting to find out the Stranger Things season 5 release date, they can watch the documentary Behind The Curtain: Stranger Things: The First Shadow on Netflix, which tells the story of the play's original London, England run back in 2023. Kate Trefry, who also co-wrote the play and has been a writer and story editor for Stranger Things seasons 2 through 5, told PEOPLE that the play is definitely connected to the upcoming final season of the hit series. She said:
"I'm really excited for season 5 to come out so that everybody can see the full story because season 5 has so much to do with Henry Creel. The play and season 5 are kind of a couplet. They're part of the same story. I'm excited for everyone to finally see the whole picture."
Netflix Has Several Big Releases Coming In 2025
Besides Wednesday season 2 and Stranger Things season 5, several other popular shows are coming back to Netflix in 2025.
It's also a big year for the final seasons of hit shows. You season 5 will premiere on April 24th, 2025, which will be the last season. From the trailer for the new season, it's clear that Joe Goldberg's (Penn Badgley) story will wrap up in a fascinating way. Several months ago, fans saw a teaser for Squid Game season 3 and also learned the final season of the hit show will likely come out in summer or fall 2025. Finally, The Sandman season 2, which will be the end of the series, is coming out in July 2025.
